Liam is the only tie which Theo really has to Scott's pack, so Theo is probably just stalking Liam most of the time. Let's not forget Theo was a guy who slept in his car and has nothing to do in his spare time. His interactions with Liam signifies the first time that he's trying to care about anyone.

@@DarkusSovereign they’re not officially couple and just recognized as close friends but some little details give us a though of their relationship (more than a friend), that’s why many people ship them. Don’t forget the scriptwriter is an open gay so he does know how to create some kinds of “bromance thing”. I guess because this film is about supernatural, fighting, friendships and isn’t a gay movie so the director wouldn’t intend to create more official gay couples

If anyone remembers how Peter was saying that Malia is surrounding Scott with killers to protect his innocence or whatever. That is basically what Theo is doing for Liam.

1 thing I love... is how Liam just moved back to let Theo do his thang and slam Gabe into a mirror. TRUE LOVE!

At first, I think Theo looked out for Liam because he desperately wanted Scott's approval and felt he could earn Scott's trust, if he saved and protected Scott's beta. But then, Theo realised that he actually genuinely cares about Liam and instinctively wanted to protect him. They're eachother's anchor.

Liam struggles to think about the future consequences of his actions, he's just caught up in the emotions of the moment. Theo's brutally calm description of what would have to happen next got him to slow down enough that he could think clearly again. I wouldn't call it reverse psychology, Liam knew Theo wasn't actually encouraging him to kill Gabe even if the phrasing sounded like he was fine with it. Not that Theo cared if Gabe lived or died, but by this point he definitely cared about the impact killing someone would have on Liam.

Liam is a great influence on Theo

Liams breathing changes when he sees and hears theo, its not as growly hes calmer with theo

The fact that Theo is canonically Liam’s anchor I’m screaming

I stopped seeing him as the bad guy almost as soon as he turned up in Season 6A. It's like what Tara did to him down under, made Theo feel things again. He was definitely the Anti-hero.

Theo using his talent for manipulation for good. Tbf Theo wouldn't have cared whether he was dead or alive, so I think it says volume for his character growth that he did care about protecting Liam's innocence.

Yup. He knows if Liam kills someone that once he calms down and realizes what he's done he'll destroy himself with guilt. I actually think it would benefit Theo at this point if Liam DID kill someone--he wouldn't be able to hide it from Scott because his eyes would turn blue, so he'd be kicked out of the pack. Theo is all alone and doesn't seem to have much of a future. If Liam was kicked out of his pack Theo could probably convince Liam to stick with him and he wouldn't be so alone. Protecting/anchoring Liam to keep him from killing is pretty selfless.

@@minnybri2010 I always theorized (no pun intended) that what happened down below conditioned a sence of empathy into Theo, something he as a clinical psychopath didn't naturally have. I think he regretted his choice to take his first life (Tara) because of what became of that decision, it was all for nothing and I think that he saw what Liam wanted to do and felt that empathy for him, he didn't want to see Liam end up like him because he cared about protecting the life Liam had. Loneliness is a sorry existence that Theo just didn't want to have in common with Liam.

@@christianfrost8660 I don't think Theo was a complete psychopath, though on a sliding scale he may have always had a lower capacity for empathy. Once he'd killed his sister--or at least watched her die, it's unclear if he had an active or passive role--he really didn't have a way back to access his empathy and was numb to others' pain. He'd have to emotionally process what he did, and there's no way he'd put himself through that voluntarily. That's what started to happen underground. His sister ripped her heart out of his chest over and over again while he tried to get away, until he realized he couldn't escape and finally started to accept and process what he'd done. He wasn't "fixed" when Liam brought him back, but he wasn't as disassociated from his emotions as he had been. Fighting the ghost riders with Liam probably felt good, because Liam is ALL emotion and that makes every experience with him more intense, more REAL. I love the moment when Liam finds the right key for the police car and starts whooping with excitement, and Theo looks at him with a genuine grin. He's drawn to Liam because when he's around Liam he doesn't feel so empty...and the more time they spend together the more Theo cares about the things Liam cares about. I don't know that he's really thought it through more than that, he's still learning what it feels like to care.

Liam is good, but emotionally reactive and struggles to control his anger or consider the consequences of his actions. There's a risk he could badly hurt or kill someone in the heat of the moment, but he'd be devastated afterwards when he realized what he'd done. Theo qualifies as a serial killer from his past actions, so that depends on whether or not you think serial killers are redeemable. At this point in the show I would say that he's neutral, not good or bad. He cares about a handful of people--before he didn't care about anyone but himself--but he's okay with hurting or killing people who he considers bad. He doesn't want Liam to kill anyone though, because he knows the guilt would destroy Liam. For those who think Theo is "good"--just a few episodes before this Theo and a couple other teens were captured and tortured by a psycho human with electric shocks. When they escaped they tied up the psycho, and Theo turned on the electric shocks and left him there to be tortured to death, though we don't see the death on screen and I can't remember if the guy escaped or not. The guy was tied up at that point and couldn't hurt them, so it wasn't self-defense, and if Theo thought he had to die because he was worried he'd escape and come after them again he could have killed him quickly and pretty painlessly rather than through slow torture. He did it just for payback; he can't exactly be described as "good".
