True Jennifer. A woman can't be too careful around anyone whether she knows them or not, because evidence shows it's usually a family member or family friend that gets fixated and does something stupid to children or girls or women they know. Cops know this, as dumb as they are, that's why they always focus on friends and family when something bad happens to a girl or a child.

I was 10 or maybe 11 when this happened, my friend and I were on our scooters in heavy rain, riding home as fast as we could. (Its about 4pm almost dark), I end up going over a storm drain and then plumettint and busting my knee open and the sidewalk is full of blood. A man pulls up and offers us a ride, my friend declines but since I was bleeding and soaked in rain I just wanted to go home, so i agreed. Nothing happened, he took me home. To this day I always wonder if things would be different if both my friend and I agreed to get in his car. Or maybe he was just a very nice guy

Luciano Sanchez, It touched my heart as well. I was surprised that she stated that she prayed, most young people don’t say that they pray, either they’re afraid of what their friends will say or that they just don’t pray. I thank God that she survived her ordeal with her life. God gave her the strength and courage to deal with her kidnapper as she did. When I was her age, I did stupid things and as a 19 year old woman I made the mistake of getting into a car with 2 men I didn’t know. I was taken to a house and was raped by one of the men. I escaped from the house by climbing out of the window. I ran to the nearest phone booth and called my younger sister, her husband and my father came and got me. I was so scared that the men would find me and kill me. I reported the rape to the police, the officer who took the report said that I was very lucky they didn’t kill me. I blamed myself, because I got into their car. It was my mistake getting into the car, but I didn’t ask to be raped. Both men were arrested, the man who raped me was sentenced to 15 years in prison, the other man was put on probation for 10 years. I never got into another car with someone I didn’t know! I didn’t know or have a relationship with our Lord Christ Jesus at the time, but I do now! I’m so glad that the Lord was watching over me then, Jesus Christ gave me the strength get out of the ropes that tied me to the bed. Jesus Christ gave me the courage to escape out the bedroom window and run to the nearest phone booth. It had to be God, because I didn’t have the strength or the courage to do what I did!!! I give my Lord Jesus Christ all the credit for saving my life and my sanity! I know that without Jesus Christ, I can do nothing!!! Praise The Lord, For He Is Worthy, I Of All Our Praise!!! As soon as the news broke about that letter the rush to judgment was so huge. There was victim-blaming. And a lot of searches and a lot of help for this little girls stopped right then and there. In the entire time she needed assistance and she was being completely tortured and chained up in a box. You can never completely judge someone you do not know. And if the searches are in vain and the person really did just run away.. It's better to be safe than sorry. People need to learn from this.

Carrie Ann, Where in this video, did it say she was chained up? If you listened you would have heard that the police were extremely concerned after the mother received the letter from her daughter. It was after the letter that police believed she had been kidnapped, not before! People react differently in different situations, especially when they don’t have all the facts. Police didn’t give out all that they knew. If they had, the girl may not have been found or let go. People make mistakes jumping to judgment in certain situations. That’s just the way life is! No one is perfect and people believe what they want to believe, until they’re given the exact details, they’re going to believe whatever they think is the truth!!

Agreed. Better to be safe than sorry. Even if the person is a runaway they still need counseling and support. If they're young and underage it's not too late for them to change. And ppl really need to stop bitching about money. It's always the manipulative ones who have money issues who complain about this.

Abby went missing on my 15th birthday, just a few days before her own 15th birthday, in a town which is like a second home to me. I remember being up in Conway the weekend after she went missing and seeing all the hard work people were putting into finding her. When I learned that she had returned home safely that following July I remember just sitting there crying in joy that she was ok. Her story is one that has had such an impact on how I live my own life, learning that anything can happen anywhere, no matter how safe you feel there, and I’m so glad that she got this chance to share her story.

In 1994 my 17 year old daughter ran away to be with a boy I disapproved of. His wicked mother helped my daughter to plan and run a way. I was devastated that my precious daughter ran a way. We were very close. The first night I had to go to bed without knowing where she was after knowing for 17 years where she was every night of her life. Not knowing if she was safe and warm or if someone was hurting her. She stayed gone for 6 years and eventually came back after having 2 precious little boys. I can’t begin to say how traumatized I still am that my daughter did that to me. I tried everywhere to find her. Putting posters up, filing a missing persons report, going all over the places where she would go to look for her and to put up missing posters of her beautiful face. I totally understand how this young lady’s poor mother felt when she couldn’t find her daughter.

I remember this very well. At the time my only granddaughter was 15, we lived in a small town abt 45mi away from North Conway. Of course being a grandmother I more than emphasized about "stranger danger" and how it would break grammies heart if anything happened that would take them from me. My granddaughter is in college now miles away from me however, she and her two brothers still get warning and advice about safety from grammie....at the end of my texts I always say: ' it's a g.mother thg!' Abbys abduction brought reality home-this could happen to one of my g.kids. I followed all the news reports about Abby, I kept a picture in my wallet and when in a check out lane I would ask the person behind me if they had seen Abby. I cared about this young girl and was overjoyed that she had returned home. To see her as an adult now and that she is telling her story as to save another is vety heartwarming. Thank you Abby, I'm so glad to see what a beautiful lady you are and your story will surely help many to avoid such a situation as you endured. God Bless you dear and your family. rrc

My prayers will always be with you as you deserve to live a happy life and not let this Define you or affect you into your life that would bring you down, keep using that string to build your testimony even stronger because there are probably others out there who are watching this and maybe something can come out of your bravery and something that never should have happened to you to begin with God bless you honey!🙏☝️✌❤❤❤ and thank you for sharing this to help others and for continuously leaning on God because he definitely helps you get through this as you said and by your own strength and knowledge and courage!
