The son and those parents are the bad people the fact that they have the audacity to sit in the courtroom and give a sob story about the little maniac that they raised and let loose on us is ridiculous it's no wonder this kid turned out the way he did how can you have any sense of right and wrong or accountability if your the fruit that fell from that evil tree

Try not making words up and it might make sense, because "throwing the book" in this context would mean his parents would want him to be held accountable and receive the max sentence. I grew up with one parent who was out drunk most of the time, we lived in a very small 1 bedroom apartment, most of the time couldnt afford rent or bills. I still went to college because I knew I had to do better for myself. There is no excuse for shooting random people, carjacking, breaking laws and ending up in prison. Im a parent, my kids are now 40 and 36, I think I was a good parent and both my kids admit they were brought up well. However, when they left the house as a younger person or even as an adult their choices were there own free will and beyond my control. For your child to be given 45 years jail time sounds about right. If I was to make a statement to the court, it would have been along the lines of. I hope this young lady makes a full recovery and go on to live a fullfilling life. Society today is summed up in a nutshell when parents of these thugs first thought is to ask for leniency, not the welfare of the victim

Thank god, a judge that actually sentences accordly. I swear most judges nowadays will give 20 years for having weed on you, then turn around and give a pedo 3 years. Like how the hell does that make sense? I hope this judge continues to give harsh sentences to the right people.

My father ran off when i was 3 and my kid brother was 6 months, our mother raised us both with some help from her own mother for her long hours thru the week working to provide, and broke her back between working 2 and sometimes 3 jobs and doing her best to fulfill both parental roles. Taught us how to throw a football, put on a baseball glove and throw, shoot a basketball, den mother in Cub Scouts, etc.,etc., etc. Im 66 now my brother 63, both veterans, law abiding, patriotic citizens with NO criminal history whatsover. Thanks Mother, continue to RIP

Also, thank you to the judge who also wasn’t buying what the perp was selling…. Thank you. All the best to the beautiful victim. While I am sure they actually ARE the same, it still takes some gall to stand there and say "I ruined your life, but since I say I've changed, I should not get in trouble (or as much trouble)."
