Tedeschi Trucks Band - Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad? (Official Music Video)

Музыка

“Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad” is from the album, Layla Revisited (Live at Lock'n), listen/order here: found.ee/TTBLaylaRevisited
Tedeschi Trucks Band’s Layla Revisited (Live At Lock’n), is a one-off live recording of the seminal Derek & The Dominos album Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs, performed in its entirety with special guest Trey Anastasio. Recorded on August 24, 2019 at the Lock’n Festival in Arrington, VA, Layla Revisited captures Tedeschi Trucks Band at their incendiary best, with Anastasio proving the perfect foil to the transcendent musical union of guitarist Derek Trucks and guitarist/vocalist Susan Tedeschi, and frequent TTB collaborator Doyle Bramhall II.

I'm sitting in a truck, up on look out point, sun setting and turning the sky orange, in a small third world country called Wyoming. As I close my eyes I start to hear the sounds, and feel the spirit, of Duane Allman, emanating from my speakers, filling the cab, as the wind gently blows through. The torch passed, as this groove, this beautiful improvised jam ebbs and flows both in volume and intensity, the leads pouring out of those guitars, only to come back to earth again, with whispers of Clapton coming from Susan's beautiful voice. What a band!! As the mighty Platte river meanders thru the city the song sits on my heart...."why does love have to be so sad......" Thank you for this music....

I ususally don't care for covers, especially of Clapton and ABB. I bought this CD and it is really goood. The mix is better than the Layla and Other Love Songs. Derek and Duane are get in their own ways. Derek is the best living slide player. I am sitting in my chair with the mellow sound of a tube headphone amp. I think of the loves in the past as most old men do.

Loved the solo when Trey bought it down low and he and Derek rebuilt from the ground up. That dynamic range is what makes Trey great. Derek has the riffs and shredding so they compliment eacb other well. 5:40 is buautiful work together.

But compared with the same seat location I had at the Met Life venue for Elton John’s ‘Farewell’ concert in ‘22, those were close to $2,000 each - before the add’l fees! But for me it was definitely worth it❗️👍

I think she was already married but they toured separately, because she mentioned her dad was babysitting for her backstage. She doesn't get nearly the credit she deserves for her guitar work. This piece is so great. At about 5:00 they start to come out of a quieter section and before you know it 12 to 13 world-class musicians are just wailing. God I miss live shows!

Sounds a bit like Bonnie Riatt. Cool ... a band with man-woman mix and not only as back-up singers. (or in Prince's case all instruments). They stay close to Derek's original version, nice to see some remembered that awesome album, which was slain by the critics upon release, by now fortunately is known as one of Rock's greatest albums!!

A great, great tune and I love Derek Trucks as a guitarist. So much clarity, tone, and feeling. But if you want to understand what a singular guitarist Eric Clapton was at the height of his powers, youve got to listen to WDLGTBSS on Derek and the Dominos In Concert album. The best 1-album band in rock history, and even as a 4-person band after Duane they were bogglingly good - they overwhelm the audience. And Clapton on the same song lays down two of the most amazing solos ever recorded. His guitar literally screams and wails on the first lead and then soothes and mezmerizes on the slow ending solo. It will blow you away. And the lead on Let It Rain may even be better.

@Pat, you might’ve already seen it, but TTB did a really cool set of gigs on nugs.net they called the Fireside Sessions. Several of the episodes captured some awesome shots of Derek’s hands at work, left and right. It was incredible to watch. He’s such a complete guitarist who’s so unique b/c he fingerpicks and plays in open E. I’ve only recently begun to appreciate how great a rhythm player he is. Some particularly good shots of his slide work on these tracks m.kzread.info/dash/bejne/rGarlsiMYNLbkso.html (you gotta fast forward to about 7min in). Check out his rhythm at the beginning of the last track here “Part of Me.” It fades out but his lefthand work is really cool to watch.
