To me, you got the the greatest guitar player of his generation/all time, partnered up with one of the absolute greatest singers with an astonishing voice, who have unbelievable musical chemistry…all wrapped up in a fantastic band. This is almost everything I want in music.

thanks for keeping "The Band" and other artists alive and relevant to a generation that might have missed the boat. would be a shame to see all the beautiful works done by them and countless others to sit idle while the years flow by!

With or without the slide Derek is the king of the 6 string!

I was there at Red Rocks (I am always at Red Rocks for TTB!). They came out smokin' and kept the energy going the entire night. They are the best collection of live musicians on the road or in the studio today. It's not even close. ❤🎶🌈

They are awesome but this version is not as good as the original and it is simply boring. Doesn't have anything interesting extra. There's no emotion there's no extra fun there's no irony or inside anything it's just the song.

The horn section is Bored the chorus singers are bored the guitar solo was of course awesome but what is the point. He's not wishing his girl is coming back he's not saying that he wants you to stay he's just playing guitar

These folks are great and you have to love contemporary bands playing the good ole stuff. As good as these bands are, I can't help but think how great The Band truly was. I am sure not to many people on this stage would be upset with my assessment of "great but not as good as The Band."

Listen to Tedeschi Trucks original music. Covers are rarely as good as the originals. But when it comes to musicianship and instrumental prowess, Tedeschi Trucks stacks up, especially Derek. Among the greatest to ever pick up a guitar.

Faithful, fine rendition of my favorite song by The Band.

Susan smiling at the end as Derek is ripping is just outstanding. This is the best band in the world for the past several years now. Just my opinion

TTB is Without a doubt the Best touring band of the past decade.

It's amazing how much Charlie sounds like Levon Helm. This is almost as good as The Band's Last Waltz version. Just smokin'!

Such a special song and I didn't exspect to hear my friend Charlie on vocals. Fantastic job up and down the stage.

TTB is top notch. Every time I see them in concert I am convinced they are my favorite live band. Such talent and execution.

@@lesheathjr4494 this is The Band's arrangement and the song was written by Brian/Eddie Holland and Lamont Dozier. But yes Marvin recorded it before The Band, I believe it was originally written for The Supremes! Pretty cool, great song and TTB and Charlie do a phenomenal rendition here along with Richard Turner from BBS on bass guitar!

Susan just smilin’ away as hubby brings it home.

Seems like there's a time during everyone of Trucks solos where I just find my self smiling/lol-ing. Not taking anything away from all these superb players but, man, every time.

I FEEL SOOO BLESSED THAT I HAVE FOUND THIS INCREDIBLE BAND, I recognize God’s Hands at work with this band🙏🙏🙏 I found them while I was suffering profound grief from too many losses one right after another, and I have listened daily and I am finally feeling like it’s ok to be living and my regrets have lessened that I wasn’t able to do more 🙏🙏🙏🥰🎶🥰 ThankS you guys for your incredibly HARD WORK & SACRIFICES and for sharing your talents, so many take theirs for granted

I was there and it was fantastic.

I'm sooo in love with Tedeschi trucks band especially JJ the drummer he's got that SEXY SMILE!! Derek's a God on the guitar & Susan's voice is HEAVEN!! I LOVE BBS too!! #RedheadDeadhead

Just another great performance and one more blistering solo by Derek.

Flew across country to see this very performance at this incredible venue. Made my summer!!

I've been following these very talented musicians when Dereck was a kid playing with Gregg Allman,Eric Clapton,Warren Haynes and so many more talented guitar stars, I feel in some way he has been connected with the spirit of Dwayne Allman who was my all time favourite slide guitar god. well now we have one of the Best Slide, Guitarist of our current time and that's Dereck Trucks and his lovely wife Susan Tedeschi who have formed there own band.

Charlie did a great job with these guys and they are all great. Just heard them in Indianapolis a week or so ago. what a wonderful show, Two great bands and probably as tight as any band I’ve ever heard

Definitely one of the best American bands together in decades! I just saw & visited with them this week in St. Louis. The band was incredible from the beginning, but just keeps getting better! I do miss the late Kofi Burbridge though....

Always great music and amazing sounds- love Red Rocks and TTB - go Derek can’t be beat!

Just stumbled across some of your videos, solid gold! The horn section is an awesome blast from the past. Reminds me of The Tower of Power horn section. No substitute for great musicians. Vocals and harmonies spot on.

Please don't do it!, Susan Derek, carry on. Lowell and I used to think that this would fade, one day I turned the radio on and heard this. Been a fan since. I'm sure Lowell is with Levon saying ah hell yeah.

Totally agree! I am very happy to be the primary source for Derek's vintage guitars since 2000. Derek mentioned on Tuesday night, at The FOX in St. Louis, that he is now frequently using the '62 SG-Les Paul Standard that Susan bought for Derek as a present in August 2000, as I recall. "Already Free" was recorded to a great degree with the '61 SG-L.P. Standard that Derek bought from me in 10/08. Also getting heavy use in the studio, my old sunburst '60 ES-335 w/ dot inlays. The only other band that was exceptional in recent decades was the Eric Clapton Band with Derek Trucks, Doyle Bramhall II, Willie Weeks, & Steve Jordan!

Was at this show... Recognized the song the instant the bass line kicked in... Knew we were in for a helluva night. TTB and company didn't disappoint. If anyone finds Shovels and Rope joining TTB for Dylan's Don't Think Twice please post. One of the high points of the night. Phenomenal band.

What a night it was indeed. Wasn't it amazing that they gave the second band the lead on the opening number. Never seen that before. It speaks to Derek and Susan's confidence (not worrying about getting upstaged) and ironically their humility (their attitude is, it's all about the music). And shovels and ropes joining Susan and the band on Dylan's don't think twice was beyond words. I love S&R and when they did that number with TTB it showed how they could continue to evolve with a full band behind them.

Soul Music to be celebrated.

Gotta give it more to this song.
