Few corrections in translations: 1. 3:35 I beleive in simplicity not in controversy. (Btw I have no second language) (just trying to understand) Like the travel from Mexico to Turkey.. I get a layover in India. Makes sense. But at the #4, it seems to have a double meaning.. the typed (maybe wrongly translation) say "Dead people from inside or feeling jealousy/ tell me about today/ things are running from yesterday." You basically say the same thing in a different way, and are in no way wrong.. that's why I was wondering your background. Bc your translation is also badass. But Indians are eminently capable of switching between hindi and english meanwhile like having a conversation with each other. The reason is India is too diverse and has alone 22 languages in the nation itself so; as to avoid the language barrier people tend to learn english as it also opens diverse carrer options (like jobs in MNC's) and adds as a skill to your arsenal. And this song is in Punjabi which is a different language prominently spoken in Northern India (especially in Punjab) and Pakistan. I belong to New Delhi which is a state near punjab and punjabi songs has a crazy impact in Delhi(capital of India). So, I am listening to punjabi songs for a very long time and now i can easily understand like 90% of punjabi even though I am not a punjabi myself. Singers like Sidhu Moosewala, Karan Aujla, Diljit Dosanjh, AP dhillon , and lately Shubh has a crazy fanbase in the India and Pakistan. And ofcourse among the Indian diaspora living across the globe especially in UK, New zealand , Australia, USA and Canada. In No.4 I have provided a literal meaning of the verse; apart from it yes it has hidden meaning. The song itself is named as 52 bars so yes there are many deep meanings in the song. "Karan Aujla" is also known as "geetan di machine" (Machine of songs) since he keeps releasing tracks consistenly unlike any other artist. Some also calls him "The Scientist" as he keeps experimenting with the music and has a track in almost every genre. Yes that helps so much!! ❤️‍🔥🥰 A couple yrs ago I was talking w a New Delhi (not from New Delhi) (a convoluted explanation of different Indian cultures traveling to different India cultures) (like if the USA transported East coast to West coast) (USA could never handle that 🤣😂😂😂😂) (I wish we could!) But his culture was sooooooooooo interesting! I loved talking to him, bc he knew Western music too (which def threw me down a few black holes a few thousand times😂) But he helped me see how really dumb I was. I love coming here for this side of the world's music. Bc even when I try to look on my own I can't find the subtitles, and wouldn't understand many references anyway. Whereas Teddy has been here for a while and his explanations and takes on lyrics are everything. ❤️‍🔥 And I really love this artist (so far, first song I'm pretty sure I've heard) I loved the line "I don't write songs by reading books" 🤌 ... And I know you always look for lyrical meaning too, plus you're much further into the content and culture at this point and it helps a lot. Bc everywhere all around the world it's the same, just the difference between saying tomato/ tomâtó, potato/ potâtó. But I love all the different cultures and religions and beliefs and styles of life, the minute small differences and details that colour our world bright. ❤️‍🔥 Like how everyone eats chicken, but nobody really spices it the same (But so seriously... I listened to a rap song in the States a while (years) back.. it was about candy bars. Yep. KitKats, several more, I'm pretty sure a Snickers was involved somewhere. (😭😭😭) I looked at my son and asked "what is this??!" He agreed, told me I couldn't listen to radio rap and Bluetoothed his playlist.) (Thankfully a few months later my daughter introduced me to kpop.. I abandoned Western music entirely for a (LONG) while (at least 2yrs), and when I went to catch back up, I found out I hadn't missed anything at all 🤣😂) (😭😭😭 kinda very sad also though) (very) (but I have Korean, and now India too, and I'm quite happy w my playlists 🔥💃✨) Now I just have to learn a whole Rosetta Stone of languages... 😂 Thank God music is transversal til that happens.
