I was so excited to see this come up!! I discovered Teddy a while back & felt like I hit the jackpot. I love him. You should hear more of his covers. He puts his soulful spin on all of them. The guys vocals are amazing. He crushes Mario's "Let Me Love You." Hardly unfair to mention because he crushes them all. Mad respect for Bonnie Raitt. This & "Something To Talk About" are amazing. Her voice is super unique with lots of rasp & she plays killer guitar.

Jamal, I'm SUPER glad you checked out Teddy!! I adore him & his soulful voice!! Look him up & listen to more of his covers. It cracks me up when he barely knows the lyrics of something & holds his phone up with the words to the song yet sounds like he could have written it himself. That's raw talent.

Can anyone tell me a better example of why not to judge others on appearances? This dude is amazing.

Reminds me how some of the toughest looking bikers can be the most gentle, kind people in the world who wouldn't hurt a fly. Oh, my soul! How did I not know about Teddy Swims? What a gorgeous voice the Lord has blessed him with. And, now, we are mighty blessed. Thanks, Jamel, for posting this. Love and peace to you, brother.

He sings with gentleness, power, and conviction without unnecessary histrionics. In other words it’s about perfect. I’d never heard of him before. He’s perfectly believable and that’s about all I could ask for. I’m deeply impressed.

I never heard of this brother before, but I'm definitely going to search out some more of his work. This is one of my favorite songs, and I love Bonnie Raitt's original, but this is right up there! (UPDATE) I just listened to his version of Marvin's" What's Going On?" He made Marvin proud, Son!

God bless. When I first heard this cover I was transported back in time. As he left that night nearly 30 years ago, he was convinced I didn’t love him. That’s the way his parents wanted it. He left this song by Bonnie Raitt on my answering machine the next night. It was so hard to let go. Sometimes you just don’t know what will send you back. I still love him to this day.

I takes a very unique voice to make me go "what?" I appreciate all those can sing but this gentleman's voice made me sit up and truly listen...

I had the privilege of seeing Teddy perform live and WOW! Brother walked on stage with a black trench coat, some sweatpants, tee shirt and some flip flops and he left the whole audience with mouth wide open….. definitely will go see him again.

When people say that there are no talented singers around anymore who can really carry a tune I always think of Teddy Swims and Pink Sweat$, two very different singers (Pink does his own original songs) but they are both examples of great music that moves me now (they're in their 20's and I'm in my 60's) .

I found out about teddy almost a 1 year and a half and I have yet to hear a bad song from him

First time reactors to teddy are my fav! He is a beast. Tearing up covers. Rock, pop, country, r&b. Nothing he can't do. The vibrato.....wow. They signed with Warner but covid has put things on hold. 28 I think. Out of atlanta. Check out more of his music! His fans will stop by reactors.

He and Allen Stone have the same heavy vibrato technique and the same kind of falsetto tricks. There’s a clip somewhere of Teddy doing Unaware and he has a recording of Naturally. It’s good.

Christoff Solomon Death - Dead: Singer Christoff Solomon has sadly passed away. The talented singer was reported to have died a few days after a long battle with a revealed illness. Christoff was a member of Teddy Swims band Elefvnts. According to information from sources, Blood clots had been found in his lungs, and, after being intubated once again, there was concern that he would not regain the strength to breathe on his own. Although his stats improved for a short time, his heart eventually became overwhelmed, and it was time for him to go in peace. His death was confirmed by friend and singer, Teddy Swims via his KZread Channel and Facebook Page.

Yep .. All those versions are great, although IMHO, Bonnie's is definitely the greatest .. When every version is so good, that tells you it is simply a straight out, top class song, and kudos to the writers ( Mike Reid and Allen Shamblin ).

His voice in full reminds me what I just gotta share. The people that you come across in life. For all of the ones we dont invest much time in. I.e. The disabled, the poor, the broken hearted, those considered ugly, those discriminated for different colored skin and so on and on.... They are the ones that have talent far beyond all of our imaginations or expectations. Compels us to exercise less judgement and increase the compassion.

I absolutely loved Bonnie Rait when she first sung this song 1991. But I believe that out of all the artists who attempted to sing this song, Teddy is the only one to succeed in it. Seen 2 Cellos Thunderstruck official video yet? It’s the one without the fire/piro effects. First it’s an old song (AC/DC) so it fits your criteria. And 2nd, just watching them shred their bow string while they do it. Wow.
