Yeah I remember that and it's sad, not only him but Hogan also did it. Hogan was fired by WWE for it and then had the nerve to say he actually liked the guy.

In an era where WWE was just trying to recreate the Mr. McMahon authority figure archetype again and again, Teddy broke out of that mold and became the only babyface GM/Authority figure I can think of. He was like the cool boss, an agent of Karma who would give the heels their just desserts, which was a lot of fun. Rather than feeling dread when his theme hit, you'd feel joy because you knew the segment was about to get more fun. Hard not to love Teddy. His GM run on Smackdown was when I was really getting seriously into wrestling. He also just seems like a nice dude.

I was VERY fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Mr. Long on a show. He was very kind and nice to me. For some reason he liked me. During a battle royal we were sitting together and he asked me how long I've been in the business. I told him ALMOST 30 years. (I broke in at 17) He asked me what was going wrong in that royal. I gave Mr. Long my honest, true feelings. He said I was correct and then said "If THIS was the WWE, Mr. McMahon would be telling me to get them the heck outta there. I am grateful Mr. Long likes me. I learned a LOT from him. He even called me Playa and took a pic with me. Thank you Sir for excepting me and making ME feel special. I appreciate you. Holla!!!!

Animal was his (more) famous brother, from the Road Warriors (Legion of Doom), with Hawk; manager "Precious" Paul Ellering (with a newspaper in hand) + Rocco (the stupid puppet); Droz (Darren Drozdov, R.I.P.) and maybe (Jon) Heidenreich (creepy promos and a criminal act that he wanted to do, to Michael Cole). "Big" Johnny Ace/Laryngitis aka "People Power.." In WCW, he thought that he was Tony Hawk, a skater "the Dynamic Dudes" with Shane Douglas, before he became "The Franchise" in ECW. Long has real life heat against Ace... I like that ! I don't know if Johnny Ace, when he came into the ring, of any WWE show (RAW, Smackdown): has he ever received a "Road Warrior (style) POP ?" (I don't think so.)

Definitely one of the best GM's in pro wrestling. The best Smackdown GM ever. Teddy is like the boss you wish you have.

Bray said he’d never go back to any of his past gimmicks but Undertaker also has said he’d never want to be the deadman anymore when he was biker. I’d take Takers advice if I was Bray

I miss when Teddy Long says “1 on 1 wit da undatakah!” just as much as I miss Vince saying “In this very ring…”

It’s great there channels like this. I love to hear old road stories.

During the Attitude Era even the lower midcard down to the European and Hardcore titles were stars. Godfather, Val Venis, Goldust, and Gangrel were far more over than todays main eventers

Teddy is always a great listen. I would have DEFINITELY bought teddy merch if it was available and a teddy action figure.

I once knew Mr Long, watched him work out, talked with him probably once a week every week. Remember Johns car wash Teddy. Me and my brother washed his car many times and Teddy would open his trunk and start giving us shirts and different things he had. You wanna talk about one of the best and nicest guys on the planet . I remember Bally's too. Love to see and talk to you again playa.

T.Long's interview back in the day's on Kayfade commentaries explains everything you need to know about R.Flair and the Jim Crockett era. People were making excuses that a lot of Wrestlers used N word back then. There wasn't an excuse then or now. One Thing I've learned nobody should come as a shock.

I had a WWE tryout in Texas years ago and even got to drive Johhny Ace home after a show. He was nice to me but whats funny is Edge was kinda a dick. But thats only one interaction, not enough to base a full long lasting opinion on.

6:10 to 6:20 is the most insane thing I've heard given the rosters currently in both WWE and AEW coupled with the constant excellent attendance numbers, especially lately on the WWE side of things but also AEW going into Wembley Stadium with excellent ticket sales so far. Being a good wrestler, and being a main eventer are different things. The wrestling today blows Attitude, and RA era wrestling out of the water, and it's not close... However, being an incredible wrestler doesnt sell out stadiums, personalities, and STARS do. You could have Kenny Omega vs Will Ospreay two of the top 5 wrestlers in the world, and 98 out of 100 people would be like "WHO?". Selling out a 5-10,000 seat arena, and selling out a 60-80,000 seat stadium are VERY different. The AEW Wembley show was billed as once in a lifetime type thing, even then I heard ticket sales weren't as high as initially thought.

No Vince tried helping people all the time. How many wrestlers did he help successfully into rehab? How many people did he make? Vince isn’t perfect. He’s definitely a unique person. But Vince cares about people. Even if articles and peoples past experiences don’t shed it in that light.

Todays wrestlers trying to impress the dirt sheet writers. Trying to get all "their stool"in. They need to slow down, sell, tell their story for that moment. That alone will put pressure on the next match to raise it a level.

Brock Lesnar was top guy in Ruthless Aggression 2002-2004. Cena got chance coz Lesnar left but Cena wasnt the only star. There were Batista, Edge and Randy as well.
