Realizing your partner isn't happy with you despite the fact that you're both good people and deciding to let her go so she can be happy with someone else is the most alpha move a man can make.

She’s right; ted’s not quitting, because quitting implies stopping to try at something because it’s easier. But that’s not ted’s style. I think it would be easier to keep barreling ahead trying to fix things than to admit that you and the person you love aren’t the right fit. He’s taking on the challenge of letting her go and being his own person. That’s hard. He could have ridden it out until she was forced to be the one to demand a divorce but he didn’t want to do that to her so he took the initiative. Ted did the hard thing because it was the right thing. Good on ya, coach.

it’s a miracle when you get to share a part of your life with someone. The number of thing that have to go right for you to meet. What are the chances your paths will always stay parallel. We measure a successful relationship if someone dies before they broke up, but it should be how good it was while they shared a path.

Man I would be piss as hell if i was him. First she wanted space then when he decides to take a job in another country. She only visit him just to tell him she unhappy with their happy despite him doing nothing to ruin it. I would throw her out of my life and never look back.

maybe she visited him to see if the space had made her heart grow fonder, only to find out that it didn't work. her crying in the room was showing how much it hurt her to hurt him, bc she just didn't feel the same anymore and she couldn't make herself do so. sometimes people just grow apart. and it sucks.

@@Onponmon Its a sign of moral cowardice. They have a kid together. My wife and I arent 100% googly eyes in love with one another. But we are good enough for each other. You're never going to find your "soul mate." Affection and attraction help you git the mold most of the way and then you have to just make it work. I'd never divorce my wife because in the end, we will always be good friends even if the fire dies (which it doesn't show signs of any time soon) because we have responsibilities to each other and our kids.
