Last episode Zava spoke Polish, this episode we find out that his child is named after a Polish holiday… this man is Polish, you can’t convince me otherwise!

Rupert's switchback on how Nate should address him was a perfect illustration of his capricious nature. Maybe that is the first domino falling for that arc.

Not saying yall are wrong about Ted being passive but he was an American Football coach first and they do tend to lean on assistant coaches and focus on creating a team culture especially the most successful ones. I am sure he will but I always thought it made sense he was focused on team moral and unity over strategy. I love y'all's channel and I look forward to these deeply!

I wondered about that too, but I assumed it was providing "security" while the locker room was unoccupied during the match, and it's not like it was in the showers. Regardless, there are plenty of professional sports where the media goes into locker rooms while players are changing. It wouldn't surprise me if safety is worth the sacrifice of some privacy, especially if the cameras are strategically placed and communicated with the team. -Andrew

Yeah, all Premier League changing rooms have cctv in them. Most top tier teams will have, too.

I feel like Ted is doing the most important job a head coach has: he is creating a new team culture. Imagine what it was like under the bozo Rebecca fired in ep. 1. Over two and a half seasons, Ted has been building a new culture and a totally new team-oriented environment. Zava is actually disrupting that somewhat which I see as an actual failing of Ted's in that we haven't seen him make any effort to incorporate Zava into "the Lasso way." Remember in season 1, Trent Crimm's profile referred to "the Lasso way" so maybe Trent will be the one to remind him of it.

He could have grabbed the flash drive after they first shooter l showed the video and it never would have been seen, but he didn't. There is definitely a reason the camera closed in on it and then he asked for it after them the players seeing it didn't work out.

It might be as simple as showing the viewer that the footage exists on a flash drive, knowing it will get referenced later and ultimately confiscated by Ted. Sure, Ted could have taken it in that initial moment, but I don't think it's in his nature to do something like that without telling his coaches first. - Andrew

I must admit I am regularly being taken out of the show when the writers forget that the show is set in England. We don’t say ‘commercial(s)’ or ‘elevator’, and nobody here has ever, ever, said something ‘sucks butt’ It’s annoying. I understand it is an American production, and it airs in the States, but despite all the negative stereotypes, Americans are not dumb and will get what words like ‘advert’ and ‘lift’ mean simply from context alone.

I've always been annoyed by movies/shows set in England where characters say "miles" instead of "kilometers." They even show road signs that read "miles" on them lol. I hadn't considered some of the other terms you're mentioning, and now it's all I'm going to think about 😂 -Andrew

@@chrisknight2631 that's general m'ricanArrogance. so many of their movies show someone travel to other countries and people there somehow do speak with accent but have perfect American grammar. so unrealistic for us Europeans. we don't talk like that.

@@celinelia8127 No it isn’t. Ted Lasso is a US TV show, shot for US audiences. The US makes some of the best TV ever made, and all of it is/was made for a US audience. All British TV is made for a British audience. All Spanish TV is made for a Spanish audience. It’s not arrogance. The US just happen to be lucky that their language is now the most common language in the world (it overtook Mandarin this year). Of course it will be scripted for their own country first and foremost. It would be stupid not to. Imagine Ted went to Spain instead and they shot the whole thing in Spanish, with no subtitles - it would be a huge gamble to do that WITH subtitles as the producers would know that there would be a much smaller audience. It’s not arrogance at all. It’s common sense; it’s the right thing for them to do. In this instance it’s either common sense, so written for Americans, or it’s an oversight, which I doubt very much as the English actors in the show will have definitely said “I would never say elevator in my life, I would always say lift” and the lines would be changed. The producers and the show runner clearly feel that they should change these to the US version for their viewers, knowing full well that English speakers from other countries will still understand what is being said. I wasn’t confused by any of these Americanisms, they just took me out of the episode slightly. Keeley says “make a good commercial” and for just a second I think to myself “why in earth would she talk like that?” and then immediately forget it and carry on enjoying the show. The worst offender of them all being “sucks butt” I must admit. I guarantee that’s the first time and English woman has said that phrase in the history of England. Well, depends on the take and how much she rehearsed, so might not have been the first, per sé, but definitely the first time it’s been said on an English TV show! I think the only arrogance shown here was from you, assuming that a foreign TV show wouldn’t be aimed at their own country, and should be aimed at you and yours instead.
