Very helpful, I have color shift mica powder on its way from Amazon, wasn’t sure how to use it on cards but you’ve answered all of my questions. I’ve had gum arabic for quite some time now, so I’m all set. Tysm

great video, I also learned that if you spritz with water, that will set the powders. TYFS

will have to get some arabic powder and give this a try for the watercolor aspect with my stamps. I never knew it came in a powder either. I have had mica powders for ages (add them to fused glass projects etc.) but have started using them with my cards. LOVE them for a "glow" around a moon etc. I have used a gentle - far distance - FINE hairspray to set mica & glitter etc. But, maybe this arabic powder will work too. sometimes if you get to close with the hairspray it wants to warp the paper if it is not a real heavy card stock. Nice info. thank you :)

Two helpful takeaways (for me at least) - I never knew that gum arabic comes in a powder form, which seems much easier to work with in this context; & I never thought about mixing powders into embossing paste, gel, etc. So cool! I know I have heard Jennifer McGuire mention lightly misting Perfect Pearls with water after you've applied them to your paper/cardstock, to activate the binding agent & help set the powder better. I am curious if that would work the same way with the mica powder/gum arabic mix. She did mention that the mist only makes the binding in the Perfect Pearls work better, but that the powder will still stick to embossing ink fine without water. Do you think it is the same with mica powders? I might have to test that out when I get powdered gum arabic. Currently, I only have it in a liquid form. Thanks so much for sharing these tips, Christina. Take care, & have a wonderful day! :)

I found this video very interesting Christina. I have had these mica powders on my wish list for a while now, so it was good to see how to use them properly and the different ways to use them. Hugs, Brenda

Search for mica and child labour... It's very sad but in India child labour during mica sourcing is very common
