Greetings from England and thank you so much for doing this video, so straightforward and easy to follow, even for a novice like me.. I have an SL B2, not used it as a main deck for a while and was considering getting rid, but after watching this I'm definitely going to keep it and use it more. Cheers again, great job pal, looking forward to more videos from you.

thanks !!!!, I own this turntable, i bought it when i was very young, it worked fine but the arm did not return, after looking your video i understood the problem, so i removed the spindle and gear, after good cleaning it from oil, i glued the cracked gear on the spindle, changed the RCA cable with high-end ones, turntable works like new, a drop of oil on the motor axel lowers motor noise, (when not in use for long time its good to remove the belt from the motor)

Great video! I actually have a Technics SL-B1 which is from the 70s I think. It's very similar to the B2 apparently. In fact, I'm not exactly sure what changes were made from the B1 to the B2. I've had it for about 15 years and bought it used on eBay. It plays ok but certainly needs some TLC. I look forward to spending some time with this video to help me sort my table out.

Couple things 1, does this happen when you try this preamp with other turntables? 2, make sure the headhsell is wired properly (Google “turntable cartridge wiring diagram”) 3, check the RCA polarity from the tonearm to the cables, be sure top left is left channel positive, etc. 4, double check ground cable is wired properly, do not internally ground. 5, double check the cartridge does not buzz by using it on another turntable
