yeah, having untinned copper the corrosin will literally whick up the entire cable and turn it all black and stiff. Then the resistance will increase and the insulation will harden and it will wear out. It will take 1-10 years but then it will turn into a resistor and catch fire. Had this happen on our boat due to previous owner being a cheapskate, had to rewire everything to be safe.

@@Krutonium Sadly the smaller motors are only around 0.3hp or less. Big ones also exist, though 8-16hp is rare and expensive. When you go internal, you can get the horsepower, but at a large cost due to battery bank size needs. So an alternative is to go electric, with a genny, so "hybrid" (as many giant boats do, but can be scaled for smaller boats depending on speed/size). I'm near a place that makes electric powered house boats. Due to the UKs small rivers and canals, these only need to go around 6mph so can be small pancake motors and about 1-2kw (at 12v) of solar panels. Motor is around 48v though IIRC so you can end up needing a day or two to charge for around 4-8h cruising time. But in full sun, and just coasting along at min revs, you might only draw the 1-2kw that the solar brings in, so "free" fuel.

But what if the pc is in water aldready? Sucking it up and pushing it warmer out, no reservoir. It can even be a small additional thruster. Or I don't know, hook up to the waterjet thruster of some boats bypassing the need for pump.
