Well presented, thank you for that. We are getting one of these 5kW inverter systems with out BYD H6.4 connected to our house with a 6.6kW solar array. We are becoming part of a retailer manage Virtual Power Network in Victoria Australia and I was looking for extgra information, this was great.

There is a version of these inverters that seems to be made for the US residential market, and while the secure backup circuit is 120VAC, the primary output voltage is still 240VAC without any hint of split phase capability. I searched for installation documents for the -US models but couldn't find anything.

Video is great, but you didn't explain why you used jumpers. At the manual you can find the info, but it would be useful to add a comment in the video explaining why to use jumpers or not, depending on the maximum charge/discharge capacity in A of the battery. If you use jumpers you cannot connect 3 batteries, but 2. Thanks for the videos, they are cool!!

@SMA: Can i use a salvaged EV car battery that has REC BMS together with this sunnyboy storage? I know it works with Sunny Island, but is it supported here?

SMA is not perfect any more. Also regarding service support and hotline. I have a feeling they offer the expected support only for German customers. Very disappointing change in 10 years.
