most informative video about Clutches that I've ever seen
Whenever I'm in a down mood all I need to too is watch (sometimes re-watch) a Brock tutorial to feel better. Thanks!
I've spent 25 years in the paddock in US and Europe and aee roadrace mechanics just "slap it together". Following the tips from this video will give rookie team mechanic a quick leg up and consistent performance out of the clutch.
Wow! "the guys in the factory know more than we do". I trust humble people and this is the best clutch video every. thank you.
thanks Brock, this is the sort of thing that distinguishes aftermarket developers from one another.
Thanks Brock! I just learned more about clutches in 49 minutes than I have in the previous 49 years!
That aerosol cap and masking tape to keep the clutch lever from depressing screams of a lessen already learnt the hard way 😆
Many thanks for the detailed explanation Brock, put across in such a friendly, non-patronising way. I own a 2012 ZZR1400, and this has helped me understand my bike a whole lot better.

We all started out knowing little or nothing about every aspect of motorcycling.. but we learn because we love it. I used to hate when people acted like I was a dumbass for asking a question and have tried my best to be respectful to all knowledge levels.

@@BrockDavidson There are no dumb questions. Thank you - I have something that needs just this fix! I broke things and fixed a lot of junk. Drove and rode at speeds that - well - my Mother-inlaw was in the pass seat. And as I topped it out, she yells, "Holy F". Honest - I was smiling like all get out!

I really appreciated the patience you put in and detailed information sharing out to all 2 wheeler. I am looking out for more posts, great videos Brock!
Hey thanks for taking the time to explain all of this man. I can't tell you how informative it was from a real world perspective. I appreciate you doing this!
Love these videos. I'd watch and listen to them all day! I've had a clutch apart that far but am guilty of just dropping in a whole new stack. Def informative and learned a ton
Brock thanks I enjoyed, I learned a couple things and really liked the video thumbs up. I’ll be looking at the rest of your tech talk videos in the near future.
Thanks Brock. Rebuilding my V45 Magna and watching videos like this are really relaxing and interesting. You really pay attention to detail. I appreciate that.
I appreciate you going into depth and explaining how to make the clutch perform and showing the results on the dino. Thanks Brock
Just reiterating the other comments.. I did learn lots more about bike clutch set-up and maintenance in that one video than so many other vids on here. Keep up the great work. Regards Richard from Australia
Thank you so much Brock for this video, as a owner of a 2016 ZX-14r I'm constantly looking for tech information about my bike. As I love for looking at ways to making things faster and run better...Thanks again for sharing your wealth of experience to help out others who enjoy our sport.
The Best video I have seen on assembly of clutches. The way you shared your experience and knowledge with such simplicity kept me glued to your presentation. Thank you for sharing your learnings :)
Best, most informative video about Clutches that I've ever seen. Great job guys 👍 I can only add that if you see those little high-spots on a steel plate, you will almost always see little grooves around the fiber plate right where the high spot is on the steel plate and conversely, if you see a little groove in a fiber plate. look closely at the steel plate and you'll more than likely see a high spot on the steel that matches where the groove is on the fiber...
Brock, Thank you Sir. For the very informative clutch maintenance seminar. Lol. I know now way more then I did about my 2016 ZX14R SE. Clutch. ! And I saved this to go back and listen again and again what you said so it's stamped in my brain. Thank you. So very much. ! God Bless. !
Thanks for the video! T he parts guy could not believe it when I bought half a set of plates, because I was replacing only the worn out parts years ago. Thanks for such an honest informative video.
Wow, great video man. I now have a much greater understanding of how exactly a motor cycle clutch operates and goes together. I work in auto body and listen to your vidoes all day while im working. Great stuff keep them coming. And a huge Thank You...
Definitely a long video but it went quickly because I'm learning so much. Really great stuff Brock, thanks for taking us through it!
Wow, what a great in-depth explanation! It’s really great that you take the time to share your knowledge. Kudos to you!
I couldn't believe this video was almost an hour long. I was so into the entire thing that I didn't even notice until you said something. Every detail of the clutch system was discussed. I felt like I was in a tech class for motorcycles. Almost tried to raise my hand. 😂 Many thanks for posting this video. I realized instantly what my problem was and still watched the rest. Enjoyed the educational experience in all of its entirety. Look forward to next class. Thanks again for taking the time.
You are top man.Thank you for showing the tricks and ways to inspect the clutch.I have 4th zzr1400 and absolutely adore this motorcycle and its build equality.
Thank you Brock for sharing your knowledge. I don't drag race bikes, only road race, and your info is just as useful !
Wow. That was awesome! More clutch info than I bargained for and totally glad I watched the whole video.
Thanks brock for this video as a zx14 owner we definitely are in a class of our own. Us zx14 owners love well informed videos of this bike and wish there were more like yours.
Another great video from Brock. I have worked on many different bikes over the years and all I can say is, listen and learn from this video. A good clutch makes the bike.
Best motorcycle clutch tech talk on youtube good job brock👍

Brock Davidson Hi Brock, I have been having a problem with my 2018 GSXR 750’s clutch. It seems to be knocking when trying to get moving from a stand still. It tends to do it once the oil is warmed up. I have checked the sprockets and chain and they seem to check out alright. Here is a video of what happens. kzread.info/dash/bejne/qKdqqbSpY5TLf7A.html I would greatly appreciate it if you can diagnose that as the dealer I bought it from isnt much help. Thanks.

Hi Brock, just love your wee films. I'm a drag racer but I have learned a hell of a lot about how to make your bike run better and faster. I try to do a lot of my own bike maintenance. Luckily it mostly just the basics stuff oil changes and the like. Your films are very informative and put things in layman's terms. Keep up the fantastic work pal. 😃 😁
Brock you are the man! Real talk, without any BS.
Mate , I enjoy these tutorials so much , I just scored a ZX14R SE '13 , and I am learning a lot from all your ZX14R series , thanks for taking the time to put it all together for us .

Hey! I did also. How many miles on yours when it went? Mine had 10,000 on mine. Thanks.
Thanks Brock, you style was perfect for me. The parts of the video needing time to explain were given the time they needed and the same is true of the parts that where simple or repetitive. You had my attention for the entire 50 minutes.
,Brock I have tons of respect for you doing these tech videos..
I watched this hoping to know how clutch works, I didn’t figure it at all, but understood bad clutch implications and this is maintenance explanation. I like a lot your style!

Had to comment! This was so easy to understand and very informative 👏 You the Man! 💚 Great video Thank you so much!!!
Today is the end of my 1st year of drag racing. I’ve made a point to take out time to thank those who knowing or unknowingly assisted me. I purchased my alien head 2 full system almost 2 years ago from your website & slowly piece by piece attempted to follow your stock to Brock’s for my 2015 zx-14r. Like most rookies I’ve failed a lot but I kept regrouping. Your video on clutch maintenance helped me find a problem that has bothered me all year. Clutch basket had slack it cause a break in my inner basket & broke my shift selector multiple times. I repaired the basket & made progress on my stock motor thanks keep up the good work! Your Clutch mod & springs gave my bike the ability to hold mph.

@Terrance Sampson - thank you for the kind words. Drag racing is exciting/fun/challenging - but it can also be very frustrating when 'hidden' problems hamper progress. Your appreciation is exactly why we take the time to produce these vids. Good luck, be safe, GO FAST!

Thanks Brock . Very good informative video 👍
That was a top tier video. Thanks. It is surprising how similar the clutch is to a automatic transmission setup, I expected it to be something different. I enjoyed watching your thorough inspection techniques. That is probably the most important aspect of being a competent dyi builder/racer. It is an art to be able to see and understand the clues of what is happening inside the machine.. it will tell you what is wrong if you can spot the signs.
Must be nice to have Brock as your buddy. A wealth of experience and knowledge. He's from Ohio 👍. Big what's up from Cleveland
Thanks for the vids!

I know nothing about clutches..im just a street rider....but i would really like to go grab a beer with you brother and keep the clutch convo going!! Great vid.
I don't drag race, but I'm putting a new clutch in my klr650! And found this video helpful!
I absolutely love these informative videos. I'm a maintenance tech by trade. I know mechanical systems. I really appreciate these. Couldn't learn from a better person. I would usually replace my whole clutch with the kit provided. This next time around I'm going to stretch this clutch kit out by replacing only what's bad. I really never gave it a second thought about scrutinizing each plate and fiber.
