Thanks Brian for sharing the math section with me. I have taking the TEAS 7, 3:times and studying now to take again next month. I am going to keep practicing the math problems over and over. Hopefully eventually I will pass with the score that I need to get in to my nursing school.

Hi there! These questions are meant to mimic the TEAS exam. They are not exactly the same questions but they are going to be the same difficulty for the TEAS 7 exam.

Any advice on word problems I have a had time figuring out what numbers should be divided or multiplied together to get the correct answer

Hi there! You multiply by 4 and 5 because you need to make the denominators of both fractions match 40. 40 is the least common denominator. I hope this helps and let me know if you need further clarification. 😀

I take it the NurseHub Tip isn't on the test. Example a Celsius to Fahrenheit conversion? I probably need to memorize these.

Imagine you cut a cereal box into each of its sides. You would have a front/back thats the same size, the top and bottom would be the same size, and the sides would be the same size. That means you would have three pairs of matching sizes. The terms (large, medium, small) are more about the idea for the sizing. The front/back would be the largest, the sides would be medium, and the top and bottom would be the smallest. If you draw out the net of the shape (a 3D shape broken down into its 2D parts) you can label the sides of the each piece of the 2D shape if the visuals are more helpful.

For #10 how do you know you're supposed to cross multiple and not multiply straight across ?

Hi Alejandra! Cross Multiply - theres an equal sign in between - used for Ratios and Prorportions Multiply Straight Across - there's a multiplication sign between the fractions

Hi. On question 22. How is it negative 7 at the end? I thought it would of been +7. Dont you keep the sign of the bigger number?

When we have a positive number divided by a negative number, our answer is always going to be negative. When we are adding a positive and a negative number, the sign of the bigger number is the one that stays - I hope his helps!

Because you have to follow Pemdas and find the square root of seven to the second power and add that to five which gives you 54 so you would multiply 3 by 54

There will not be any formulas provided. We recommend writing them down on your scrap paper right when you begin your exam so that you do not forget them.
