@IlexEmily if watched or just heard anything about Breath of the wild, here are some noobfriendly notes to my favorite audiophile - LoZ as a series loves referencing itself in all sorts of ways. I suspect the music can sometimes be like that, too. -Tarrey Town is the newest town in all the land! Stunning views, cute building block houses, etc. You can also hear a tune from another settlement, Hateno Village, just kinda bridging the night theme, this is because the founder of Tarrey town used to do construction work in Hateno. -Sidon's theme is also a little bit referential, he is a Zora (fishman), and was Mipha's sister in Breath of the Wild. Some of the minor notes feel pulled right out of the Champion Mipha's theme. Riju is the queen of the Gerudo people, they're strong amazonian women thriving in the desert. The arabian fantasy vibes fit nicely with them❤ I won't say much of Gloom Spawn but for those who discover it blind, it's all the more terrifying - the sky turns blood red, you hear their shriek... it is as trauma inducing as a guardian taking aim and the piano going balistic. I am still terrified of them but i will spare you the other visuals and assure you that you are safe. Make no mistake the game is fantastic and has so much wonder to offer. Pay attention to anything similar to BotW music, those observations can make a richer experience ❤ cheers!

Possibly the best sequence in any Nintendo game. Going from the trailer theme to Zelda’s theme to the main theme right there at the end? CHILLS.

11:00 In my experience the first sign of a Gloom Spawn in-game is that absolutely terrifying track, and they usually came up behind me or were just out of sight behind some visual obstruction... so yeah, checking to see if anything is coming to eat you is a perfectly reasonable response.

The Final Fall track she listened to wasn't cut and looped together properly 😭 Yoshi's VGM is good at cutting and looping TotK tracks together well; Although there's a few tracks of theirs that aren't handled as ideally as how some other KZreadrs handle them

@@5hark906 I've been obsessively listening to TotK's OST, so I'm primed to pick up on the imperfections in uploads 😩. The next few days I'll be meticulously working on a playlist of BotW, AoC, and TotK tracks picked from the best uploads I can find, ordered as reasonably as I can so people in the future won't have to find Zelda music that isn't edited together as well as it could've had.

@@AIrider08 Oooo yeah they're very good at cutting together TotK music! I've a playlist of TotK music, and I've heavily used videos from DyITheis Productions, Yoshi's VGM, and Vivi's Radio Backup.

You help build Tarry Town as part of a side quest in Breath of the Wild and some parts of the music are taken from other town themes due to other races of Hyrule living there and not just Hylians.

Usually creepy music is meant to be in a way to make you feel like you should run. Whilst the gloom spawn makes you feel your screwed no matter what you do

Some music references: - 0:37 The main theme of the whole franchise - 1:43 That part is a reference to the Gerudo Town theme in BotW/Totk and the interments used throughout the whole song are referencing Hateno village. Thats because the person who constructed Tarry Town is originally from Hateno Village and his wife is originally from Gerudo Town. - 11:12 This theme is very similar to Mipha's theme (She was Sidon's older sister who passed away in BotW) and her theme starts with "Mi" and "fa" because her name is "Mipha" and Sidon's theme starts with "Si" and "Do", love that detail :) - 12:27 Tears of the Kingdom main theme. - 13:21 One of the *many* references to one of my favorite Zelda songs ever. Anytime you hear that melody or even just those three beginning notes, that's Zelda's lullaby. Zelda's lullaby is a very well known song from the franchise and it's been used in every game since A Link to the Past (I'm 99.9% sure) so it's a classic and it often evokes tears lol. You've probably heard the first few notes in songs like at the end of the final trailer or the demon dragon theme. - 14:10 Another reference to the main theme of the series. (Also side note, I'm so glad you reacted to Riju's theme!!)

In Tears of the Kingdom there's a special kind of damage inflicted by what's called Gloom. That damage is dealt to Link's maximum health, thus decreasing his effective maximum health. Gloom damage is recovered from through exposure to the sun. Gloom Spawn are a type of World Boss that appears to randomly come out of nowhere (though they do actually have set locations like other World Bosses), and their appearance is heralded by the sky being overcast with blood-red clouds. As the enemy's name might suggest, they deal Gloom damage. The overcast prevents the sun from healing Gloom damage. Gloom Spawn are faster than Link, they always come in groups of five, they respawn when killed if you don't kill the rest of their group in time, and they can traverse most forms of land, only being stopped by near-vertical-or-steeper walls. Their battle theme is very fitting, these things make a fair number of players miss the Guardians by comparison, and given that particular enemy type's status as 'The Dreaded' in their home game of BotW, that is saying something. Honestly, I knew about the Gloom Spawn going into TotK, and I still jumped a little when the bastards shrieked at me the first time.

I love the Spirit Temple theme. I still stop by there occasionally just to hear the music.

The string section towards the end is really pretty. Personally I'm a sucker for the wind temple theme though, especially the flute in the beginning.

TOTK’s ost makes me want to get the game! Im in love with this OST!

Final Fall is implemented fantastically into the game to progress and sync to the player’s input, progressing, changing and ramping up as you fall closer and closer to Zelda, starting with the main theme of the game before blasting into Zelda’s lullaby as you get closer and closer, breaking out into Link’s hero theme as you reach out for her arm. It is such a fantastic thing for the game designers to put you on the stick for, making sure that the moment you have been waiting and hoping and striving the whole story for is something YOU get to enact. That is what makes games special. Experience enhanced by interaction.

Gloom spawn: the theme of Grabby Hands trying to suck the life out of you (literally)

You truly need to check NieR soundtracks, Shadowlord, Emil Sacrifice, Kaine Salvation and Song of the Ancients (specially 1.22) are some of the best tracks I've ever heard on my life

Early in _BotW,_ the Guardians are pure fight-or-flight fear -- but after a point, they're just walking lootboxes. The Gloom Hands? Even by the late game, my instinctive reaction to them is the same as it was the first time: _'Oh dear _*_god, RUN!'_*

Man, starting with Remember This Name is cruel hahah I LOVE this OST, the moment when it plays on the game, I really cried, [SPOILERS]: Rauru saying to Ganondorf: "One day, there will be a man who will fight you, his name is Link, remember this name!" Bro, I felt the goosebumps all over my body, it's my favorite Memorie, it's beautiful!

Final Fall is even stronger with context (endgame spoilers) The final battle takes place in the sky. After the fight ends, Zelda is passed out falling from the sky towards the ground, and you dive to catch her (Spider-Man style). This music plays in the background as you fall towards her

Its nice to know that you can do part 2's on the same ost. Would love to see you do more of Xenoblade 1 and 2, after 3's ost. I can drop some song reccomendations if you want

I never noticed that the Tarrytown theme has instrumentation for all the races that came together to build the town itself

These songs are all fantastic, but I do wish we got some more temple and boss music. Colgera, especially, although that one is greatly improved by a healthy dose of nostalgia for Wind Waker.

not that long after the game came out, someone made a mashup of the Guardian's Piano and the Gloom Spawn theme, and when i tell you that i have never before heard pure terror in a song i mean it, because that mix gave me instant chills, it made me want to close the tab and throw my computer

Always get sad that Zora's Domain never makes the cut

Sidon's theme (you pronounced it correctly btw) somehow hits notes of melancholy and inspirational together, the history of this character and Link make it so emotionally stirring. Also, after your first encounter with gloom hands and their theme, I hope you're wearing pants that you can discard.

I’m a little late, but the Sidon’s theme you showed in the video was from Breath of the Wild! The prequel to this game. The Tears of the Kingdom version of it is way more instrumental!

By the way, the Gloom spawns are absolutely TERRIFYING in game. They are a group of five red hands with yellow eyes in the palms, and when you get close, and the sky turns blood-red. Not to mention that the first few times you fight them, they will absolutely DESTROY you, so you are extremely primed to GTFO as soon as you hear the theme and see the blood sky. You should look up streamers reacting to the gloom spawns, it's very interesting to watch everyone be scared shitless by these things. Edit: Oh yeah and THEY CAN OUTRUN YOU.
