First thing is to remove the wrecker box, it didn't want to come off the old wrecker!

Sad day, but still a good day - and it made for a great video. Looking forward to even more of the tear-down and build-up. Would really like to see an in-depth video on all the future frame preps you plan to make the new frame much stronger. I've worked at a government contractor that used to get that level of quality work in from at least one supplier / fab shop, and man - what I saw would it have been impressive if it was created as a truck frame.

Haha, ol' girl still crawled back in the garage. For those not familiar with wreckers, they put a lot of wear on your frame *spine* and the frame of the truck. Once they are done they are done, metal won't take a weld and remain strong enough. The shock loads are immense, and we have all picked the front end off the ground hoping we could grab our unit.

I help lengthen and shorten tractor trailers and pickups. wreckers and flat beds tilts and all. with a good welder and tools and engineering it would be stronger than before. I once had a certified welder say even an ugly weld is strong. I now know that to be true. any tow truck should be doubled wall frame. certain trucks will fail almost instantly. like 1995 and up dodges etc with out reinforcements. I seen certain fords and chevys bend just from gooseneck trailers. just a break can be fixed properly. we currently have a c30 with a c40 rear frame attached. and constantly load heavy and put more strain than this truck had ever had. 800,000 miles on it still our main workhorse in our business. we cut the frame off just back of cab. slip c40 over the c30 front and weld in place. rear springs bolted right up. just enlarged the holes for pins on c30 axle and new u-bolts and a spacer plate to make up height difference. I can post pictures and trust me I seen well over 10000 lbs on deck of bed going through a field twisting and flexing never broke. seen it tow a 80ft house trailer up through a field with all that tongue weight. with the right person doing repairs it would be better than before and stronger.

Oh, and that is one badass Bobcat. :) We didn't have much for attachments for our Gehl skidsteer, but on one of our tractors with bucket arms we made boom from a old rail road beam. It was handy for reaching over stuff, and of course could give you some pretty good height when needed. Just an idea.
