In this video I begin working on the "new" block. I clean it up a little and remove the balance shafts. I decided to split this video into 2 parts to keep them at a reasonable length. Stay tuned for part 2, where we assemble the front case.

Very well explained as always. I didnt think I needed to balance shaft delete, until my engine started stalling at stop lights after a rebuild. The belt was all stripped, and the bearing burned out. Maybe some contaminants were left in the block and eventually collected in the inner bearing. There is a nice balance shaft kit which uses an aluminium plug instead of just the bearing rotated which I would get next time. Edit: you should catch up with Legion Elite motorsports hes into starions and 4gs

pumps can go bad with many kilometres and bad oil with contaminants I guess would help wear it. Have you got oil pressure gauge to see what its doing?

Good explanation of this mod 👏 I have a question , can I cut off the end of the front balance shaft instead of buying the NA 63 delete ?

I don't see why not. That basically what the oem part is. Only concern would be it being properly balanced.

Very nice. Thank you! I wanna install a actual oil pressure gauge instead of the factory light. What plug do I use to hook it up on block. Thanks friend

the easiest way to add a gauge is pull the old oil pressure sensor out of the back of the block, buy a 1/8 brass or steel BSPT [BSPT stands for British Standard Pipe Thread] male adapter that will convert the blocks female threads to the more common 1/8 npt female then you can simply thread an aftermarket oil pressure gauge fitting onto the block.

What Mitsubishikid said is exactly right. I’d recommend a steel adapter over a brass one. You can also use a sandwich plate adapter on the oil filter housing.

Where can I buy the oil pump delete kit for a 6bolt 1g 4g63t. I spun the bearing that goes further back on the counter weight shaft on the oil pump assembly side. I saw 👀 you can just throw them away lol delete them 🔥. Where can I buy these delete kit to delete both sides counter weight shafts.

Hello bro o have 1 question? Does the right side balancer also have lubrication through the block under the bearing? So if I remove that bearing, will there be a hole that is normally covered by the bearing or will there not be a hole? I hope you can help me to know

The right side(attached to the oil pump) gets oil straight from the pump. I don't think there's a hole behind that bearing.

Good teaching , what is the reason of blocking those oil holes?

  • @RvaJay

Those are oil passages. If you don’t block them, you’ll have low pressure.

ATTENTION TOYOTA 2.7 LITER 3RZ-FE ENGINE OWNERS: I don't know about other engines, but if the balance shaft bearings in the 3RZ engine are allowed to wear too much, this causes the balance shafts themselves to begin spinning right against the engine block where the bearing has worn out. When this happens, the balance shaft badly scores the block, rendering the block totally useless. Once this happens, the engine block is nothing but scrap metal. Deleting the balance shafts in the Toyota 3RZ engine is HIGHLY recommended. Deleting the balance shafts and all related components ( gears, chain, brackets, etc ) results in less parasitic power loss, giving you a noticeable improvement in throttle response as well. I bought my 2000 Tacoma 4x4 with 3RZ-FE engine brand new & deleted my balance shafts recently. I can really notice the difference in throttle response especially from a standing start, even during normal acceleration. ( This slight power gain will not show up on a dyno, but your seat meter will feel the difference. ) Although it's not necessary for deleting the balance shafts in the 3RZ, LC Engineering ( "LCE" for short ) sells a nice balance shaft delete kit for the 3RZ engine that costs only $99.00. This kit comes with literally everything you need for deleting the balance shafts, including a drill bit, tap ( for threading an oil galley that will no longer be needed ) a small plumbing plug to plug the oil galley after drilling & tapping, 2 "dummy" bearings ( that replace the real balance shaft bearings ), a nice specialized tool for knocking out the original bearings and is also used to install the new dummy bearings, plus LCE's trick custom oil jet with 2 new mounting studs. This trick new oil jet squirts oil only on the timing chain whereas the original oil jet sprayed oil on the balance shafts chain as well. This kit saves your engine from wasting oil pressure on parts that will no longer be in the engine when the balance shafts & related components are removed. Oil will now only be sprayed where it is needed. The only thing you'll need to use with this kit is a common drill, a T-handle tapping wrench, a tube of sealant, and a common tool/wrench set. The kit comes with complete instructions and LCE even has a how-to video on their youtube channel. Personally, I can't detect any added vibration with my balance shafts gone.
