TEAM TALK: BRP CONFIDENTIAL INFORMANTS CALLED US!!! (ROTAX OUTBOARD)
Over the last 2 weeks has been a real eye opener for us at Team Marine. Since day 1 we have set out to deliver the truth about the marine industry to our audience and today's video is no different. The calls, emails and text messages from individuals who were directly involved with this Project Ghost have come forth while choosing to remain anonymous to let Andy know the truth about this product. Multiple dealers have relayed information too. Will this be the biggest flop in marine industry history? Time will tell!

They engineered a lot of interesting solutions to problems that shouldn’t exist.

Keep it simple! Lots of cool solutions. At what point did they look at each other and say WTF are we doing? It seems like the lead engineer may have a big ego. He/She and the company must have a toxic culture that does not accept critical feedback.
This will be the biggest flop ever! BRP CEO is just as much at fault as the ding-bat lead engineer

This has to be the worst idea I’ve ever heard. What kind of CEO blows off experienced engineers when they say it’s not going to work and then hires on young inexperienced kids to head a project of that magnitude??? They need to clean house starting at the top! Great video as always Andy👍🏼

I'm not super knowledgeable about the whole evinrude/brp dynamic, but at the very least I feel like they had some good ideas even if some of them weren't very reliable. I think they were ahead of the game on design appearance and I thought the integrated steering was a great move forward.

I live on the other side of the creek in SE MN, love your videos and your humor. Keep up the good work kemosabe!

My question is if dealers don't want to deal with BRP does that mean getting parts for our G2 or any other g1 evinrudes going to be harder?
This is pure gold. Better than anything on the comedy channel. The sad part, it's 💯% true.
BRP only wanted the ETEC technology. It was maybe 5 years after they got it, it showed up on just about every Ski Doo made since 08/09. I have a G2 150 on my Alumacraft and love it. Previous outboard was an 83 Evinrude 50 which still runs. The Evinrude I knew and loved is dead, never to return...

LMAO!!! Best team service video to date!!
When is the Ceo going to get called on the carpet? I saw this same thing happen in the automotive industry. It used to be the newbie engineers would come in every two to three years and they would design in the faults and problems that the senior engineers had just finished correcting. An old engineer I knew at J.P.L. said he was kept around to stop that kind of wasteful stupidity . He would let the newbies run their course and then before they could damage a project He would step in an say stop, We tried that years ago, here is the report now go back and start again. So here we are with a Ceo. who has no idea what the Boaters want and it looks like there is no one to say stop!
CIA Agent Andy, great video s always!!! When BRP is all pumped about and using "16 bolts" as an advertising bullet point, they need to trademark that ASAP! I can see the auto industry gobbling that catch phrase... "Hey, just picked up a new 2500 pick-up! Oil pan has 20 bolts! Things insane!" Don't see it / Don't hear it / Don't fear it... Like you said, it's an underboard and yeah I kinda wanna hear it... The new Merc, when it frikn' growls when you start it, c'mon, who doesn't want that. As for the fear factor, let's not even... I can't waste my carpel tunnel & even go there with the keystrokes. LEAD Engineer saying big HP just a fad... well, just saw a vid with a pro angler doing a test ride with a new 2023 bass boat model that can hit the high 80's and the thing got a few million views, so yeah, big HP is not popular and won't sell. Engineering Team that has no interest in the marine industry; good don't do it. Shut it down BRP. To the CEO of Alumacraft what in all that's holy are you thinking with this on the transom of your boats????
This may very well be the best episode ever 🤣🤣🤣
Im just glad the whistle is back!!!!!!!!
First comment. Andy is pure gold! This is the first video I’ve watched twice to hear it all. Pure gold!
Love the videos!! I watch them all ! but I think the Ultimate do everything dad boat is… drumm roll a full windshield 17’6” aluminum, fish and ski boat any brand with a nice 115 four-stroke, I have a 2002 princecraft 176 pro sport with an 02 mercury(yamaha) 115 fourstroke, it’s quite will still hits 40 plus miles an hour, a great do eveything fishing boat sips fuel, I live on the ottawa river up in Ontario. And I barely fish yet I have this boat cuz of its versatility. Love the videos keep up the great work 👍🏼

BRP board of directors needs to be relieved of their duties. This decision should have consequences, those consequences being forcing BRP into bankruptcy where they can bring back Evenrude to their former glory.
@kylebuschfan3228
Жыл бұрын
@@rimike82 instead of creating this trash underboard, why they didn't try to create a 2strokes outboard with a valve train like 4strokes, they won't even need oil to be injected, so it is a win/win. Mazda did it, but for cars only, but we know Almost nothing on it and they don't launch the engine on a car or anything else
Wow, final nail in the coffin for BRP outboards…. As a Park City local I wish I knew they were testing this thing out on the Jordanelle. I would have tried to see the thing and have laugh. The elevation is a big issue here for sure but is much less of an issue with 2-strokes vs naturally aspirated 4-strokes. On the Jordanelle with a 225 Pro XS I get only about 47 mph in my Ranger 619 FS using a 20 P Bravo 1 FS. On Mille Lacs last November, same boat nothing changed I ran 55 mph easy and probably could get more with flat conditions. My old 1998 Ranger 481 VS with a carbureted 175 Mercury 2-stroke ran 52 mph on Jordanelle using a 21 P Tempest prop.
Lol really can't wait for the reveal
I pulled a muscle laughing at this video!!! 😂😂😂
10 minutes in and I'm laughing my ass off at Timmy being ejected off the back deck 🤣
This thing makes me want to dry heave!! Imagine the poor employees at the upcoming boat shows are going have to wear bags on there heads when working the booth. And take the walk of shame everyday walking to the brp booth. Think of the heckling they are going to get! You will have to come to Mpls boat show next year and set up a booth across from brp and do this live
I deal with BRP on the watercraft side. My impression is that they just play the numbers game and just don’t care. They bank on uneducated consumers buying their products simply based on the cool factor. Consumers who are without any knowledge or foresight for the problems that are going to arise. I’m just a small business owner but I just don’t know how any of their decisions are sustainable in the long term. I guess time will tell. I enjoyed the video and am now a new subscriber 👍🏼
“It sinks”… I died laughing
I've been following this since yall started talking about this and OMG! 🤣 🤣 🤣 what a joke. The CEO should be ashamed.
Lmfao! Andy your sense of humor is awesome 🤩
I don’t have the patience to sift the useful information from this video.
This guy is hilarious 😂 the Timmy story had me rolling
Happy Friday!
Yes BRP big horse power 4 strokes are wanted! It baffles me that these engineers don't get in contact with the marine mechanics that work on boats everyday and get thier advice and ask them what can we do to make a outboard more reliable!! Just take the best of everything and put it in one outboard!
Lol. Just lol. Love you guys!
Maybe the best Andy vid yet. See ya!
Personally loved the sound of old optimax the new mercs are also pretty cool. Everyone loves the sound.
Love this guy!!!!
Sadly my '76 200 Johnson is starting to show its age. It pains me to contemplate replacing it with anything but J/E. Suzuki here I come. Anyway thanks for the info and entertaining delivery.

Can you say... HILARIOUS!🤣
Ok... the Timmy thing was hilarious. 😅🤣
Back in the day OMC offered a different set of gears on an exchange program for stern drives in elevation. But they probably didn't think of that because anyone who knew anything about OMC is gone except for engineering.
You have great shop acoustics for that booming voice. Keeps the mice out.
Some peoples kids ! My first question was water in the exhaust but I’m glad they made a air pump for that , should work perfectly 😅😅
I swear BRP never heard of not trying to fix something that isn’t broken

Did you not see the ad with couple dancing on the pontoon with a guy on the back playing a violin?
The worst part is that BRP will do the same thing they did with Johnson and Harley did with Buell. They will shelve the names and not allow anyone to purchase them and restart the brands!
As a regular commenter and detractor when you speak ill of my beloved Evinrude it pains me to say it but you guys were RIGHT. I for one was excited about the inline 3 G2 only for it to be cut before it really hit the market. I'm excited its a 2 stroke but the excitement ended there, what a complete failure. I hang my head in shame and any hopes of an Evinrude revival are gone. When my Johnson 200 dies I guess I go Japanese with a repower. I watched the Alumnacraft reveal and Mr. Heintz had to get the crowd to clap when it was shown.

Overall it's such a damn disappointment! We weren't E-TEC or G2 fans but dammit we would have rather had a G3 or a G2.2. Regardless if he would have hated it or not we would have rather seen that for you Evinrude guys than this POS.
Just a thought Andy what if they turned the powerhead 180 degrees and mounted it in the boat where its dry and it has air to breath and it could be connected by a flexible joint in a rubber bellows at the transom and the exhaust could exit through another bellows and out the leg lower unit. WAIT a MINUTE I THINK SOMEONE HAS ALREDDY DONE THAT!!
It may flip over but at least the motor will stay dry lmao.

Sell the Evinrude name to engineers who wear real pants! The name of the first manufactured outboard and the the name of the world record outboard speed record is dead. Come on, who in thier right mind would think consumers would want to buy a product from a company that killed that name and tried to reintroduce this garbage. Time to trade the Ski Doo for a Polaris
This is Andy's greatest video ever....lol!
So, let's say I wrap a line in the prop. How do I reach it if I can't be on the back deck? Does it come with a scuba kit?
Don’t forget- They say it only needs to be serviced every 500 hours or 5 years however; they only warranty it for 3 years! What does that tell you. Another e-tech situation brewing! Run!!!😢
I don’t know what they’re smoking in college up there in Canada but us 20 something down here in Texas be building 60 hp out of 35 Evinrude blocks, BRP needs to come holler at us
I'm from Utah and I would have loved to see this test and give them crap unbelievable
Best April Fools joke ever!!! In August! There is no way in 2022 any manufacturer could think anything about this is a real idea.
I'm assuming the "bucket" is pressurized... if pressure is lost that means water is coming in. or they could have just put the cowl out of the water.... why didn't they just do an inboard/outboard if they wanted a flat deck at the stern
How TF are they gonna sell these??? They can only go on brp owned boats ( probably due to reinforcing the transom for this monstrosity). Way to limit the options BRP
I love my late 80s 70hp 2 smoke Rude. My 96 35 2 smoke is also bulletproof and. I don’t want none of the new crap that blows up every season.
I don't know how to break this to my Evinrude 50 on my 1986 Alumacraft. This is how a company fully dies off and wonders what happened.
Tell us how you feel! 🤣 Jo Anne, Bob and Timmy are havin' a day! DON'T BE BOB! 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣!!!!!!

Yea they should stick to PWCs lol and leave this to Yamaha , Suzuki and Mercury 😂
