Ten teams representing working ranches in the Roaring Springs region compete against one another in order to qualify for entry in the WRCA World Championship Ranch Rodeo in Amarillo. This was my first time to cover any of the WRCA qualifying rodeos and it was a great excuse to return to a small and beautiful town I have known since my childhood days.
The Motley Dickens Old Settlers Reunion and Rodeo is an annual celebration for the two sparsely populated counties with a long heritage of farming and ranching history.
