In this 1st build video Mark puts together the awesome Team Associated RC10 B6.4 2wd Buggy ready for some close indoor carpet battles this year
www.cmldistribution.co.uk/pro...
NEW FEATURES
New 13mm big-bore threaded aluminum shocks and springs with machined shock pistons for improved bump and jump handling
New +3mm length aluminum chassis with 22.5 degree kick-up to complement updated front-end geometry and with new shape to reduce chassis scrub with the track surface
20deg., 22.5deg., and 25deg. molded bulkheads included for a complete range of caster and kickup options
New adjustable height steering bellcrank and rack system for optimized bumpsteer at all ride heights and caster angles
New -1mm kingpin offset steering and caster block set for smoother and more predictable steering through the entire wheel throw
New steel RC10B6.4 ESC mounting tray shifted forward in the chassis and with a wider footprint to fit electronics, resulting in a further forward weight bias
New front ballstud mount, top plate, and front wing mount to account for the kickup angle change
New chassis side rails with 3 optional fan mount locations to choose from depending on chassis length and transmission used
New cab-forward design RC10B6.4 bodyshell offered in standard (kit) and lightweight (optional) thickness
Front and rear anti-roll bars included
4mm carbon fiber front and rear shock towers with molded protective covers
LEGACY FEATURES
Steel servo weight included for low CG and forward weight bias
Front and rear anti-roll bars included
4mm carbon fiber front and rear shock towers with molded protective covers
Aluminum servo mounting system with direct-to-chassis mounts and molded brace with transponder mounting location
Octalock spur gear and 11mm Octalock LCF pads
Wide pivot rear aluminum arm mounts for use with 73mm arms and 69mm CVA bones gives more predictable rear traction and an easy-to-drive rear-end feel. Also compatible with 75mm optional arms using the narrowest insert settings.
Symmetric rear arms with improved geometry and stiffness that can be flipped to allow a "split" for rear shock mounting position. Arms are available in 73mm and 75mm lengths (73mm included)
Rear hub assembly with modular vertical ball stud camber link mounts and axle height adjustments for precise roll center adjustments
Outer rear hinge pins captured with bolt head and locknut for increased durability
Rod end battery brace parts and hardware included in kit
Molded wire clips included for motor and ESC wires
+1 carbon fiber steering arms
Black steel LP serrated wheel nuts
69mm CVA bones for reduced bone plunge and minimized friction at drive pin
Clear body and clear wing included
Front wing mount and front wing included
5mm aluminum clamping wheel hexes
Fluid-filled gear differential
Adjustable differential height to allow drive shaft alignment through all ride height & axle height configurations
Shocks include X-rings for low friction assembly
Aluminum rear ballstud mount with three link positions for maximum adjustability and added strength
Lightweight aluminum one-piece top shaft and gear
Factory Team ball bearing set with 24 precision ball bearings, now oiled instead of greased for a more efficient drivetrain

Nice to see someone using proper shock pliers rather than just a bit of card and serrated pliers 😉. I'm sure you did it off camera but it's worth pointing out that you need to threadlock the little screws that hold the piston on the end of the shock shaft. I've had 2 come undone so far and it really spoils your race. Keep up the great vids guys.

No Beanie? Mark has hair! 😂😂😂 Love the old time pics! Great setup & build. Surprised you didn't install hopups initially. Carpet will scratchup your chassis bottom w/o an adhesive protector. You need a "parts tree short snipper" & wheel balancer as part of your tools kit. & 50k oil fluid. 1x I've seen a dedicated servo centerer. Buying that asap. I am surprised there weren't more TA Blue parts in the kit ala TRF parts/kits. Nice quick build vid. Hope you list specs when you finish up. TA always had nice bellcrank setups. imho they perfected those onroad in the old TC3-5 series & carried it along. Elec install will be interesting. Surprised no Ball/friction diff as well. Usually slightly more efficient + lighter weight/smaller space 👍. I see dirt background in your driving, that or you setup your rears loose on road. In the vids your cars fishtail a bit in corners onroad fyi. watch the vids.....that or you're putting the power down early? You're fast whatever you're doing, but imho losing microseconds in corners. No offense, bench racing advice. Ta.

Cheers for the thorough response You make some good points. If we do all the hop ups at once we wont benefit from working through the process and documenting the journey and explaining why we are making the changes… appreciate your advise as we are new to this generation of buggies .

It was hard watching those shock cartridge X Rings go in dry. Need to get yourself some shock seal lube on them. Really helps with the friction reduction during the stroke. Also noticed a distinct lack of locktight being used. Really hope that was just for the camera, and you went back and redid those properly. Otherwise, solid build. A few hop ups I would get for the sake of durability and tuning (mainly the aluminum from front bulkhead, and the +2 rear ballstud mount), but for just getting back into 2wd, beginning the kit setup is a solid starting point.
