    Awesome bot! A subtle thing I've noticed (that maybe not many others have) about your reveal videos is you guys always include your previous year's bot to symbolically hand the game piece to the new bot. Well done!

    +Fullap Leesong Have you ever met the Robonauts? Because I have. And while they have some very talented mentor support, the students take easily 80% or higher of the responsibility for every step of the way-from conceptuilization through CAD through build. Don't make assumptions that just because a robot looks spectacular, it's "mentor-built."

  • @williamt5359

    +David Bluhm Using your reasoning, have you ever been in their lab or area where they fabricate/brainstorm their ideas, create their bot or anything of that nature?

  • @williamt5359

    @williamt5359

    8 жыл бұрын

    +David Bluhm Since I'm replying via mobile I can't edit that comment. Here is an example of your reasoning; For example, you go to a cardboard box dealer and they tell you that their cardboard is made from the finest of wood, hand crafted for superior durability, soaked in feces for days to give it their signature brown look. That's what they tell you. But what is really happening is it's just normal cardboard that Amazon uses.

    +Fullap Leesong I think you should go talk to 118 in person some time if you're attending the Greater Toronto East Regional, Rocket City Regional, Lone Star Regional, or the World Championship. I'm sure their team members would be glad to explain how their robot is built. In the meantime, why not enjoy this robot for its quality? It's a wonderful machine, and I'm certain a lot of students learned along the way.

    +John Taylor Novak I totally agree with you. Team 118 students know a great deal about building great robots. It really upsets me when people automatically think that any robot that looks good and performs well is a mentor built robot. I believe many teams use it as an excuse to explain why their robot can't compete with the good robots.
