I am a Hindu & always respected the Sikh Gurus. But through this channel I could understand the teachings in-depth. I am currently going through a a very difficult situation in my life . But the teachings of the Guru's is giving me understanding & strength to face this situation. Bhai ji specially has a very soothing voice & beautiful way of explaining. It helps to calm the mind. The more I come to understand my respect for all the Guru's is also increasing. Wahe Guru.

The Guru Granth Sahib opens with the basic concept of the One Universal, supreme Energy called by so many different names across humanity,. Ik oankar - One absolute being (God) Satnam - Eternal truth it's name Karta Purkh - Creator Nirbau - without fear Nirvair - without hate/ enmity Akal Murat - Deathless/timeless image Ajuni - Beyound birth and death Saibang - self existant Gurprasad - known by the Guru's Grace. This is repeated numerous times and at the start of every section as a constant reminder. In the words of the tenth Sikh Guru - Guru Gobind Singh "recognise the human race as ONE"

Living in "Hukam Rajai Chalna" is very hard practically, but a measure of spiritual maturity. That is why when Guru Arjan Dev Ji said "Tera Kiya (Bhana) meetha Lage" despite his suffering, it showed his state of being in Hukum. Satpal Ji - The naam simran and sewa are key components to walking the path of Hukam, in my belief. Directly following the path or Hukam is akin to direct realization, which albeit possible is rare, and the individual must posses the qualifications. Hence, doing Naam Simran to purify & Sewa to purify & loose once Ego, can help us in Hukam Rajai Chalna. Please share your thoughts.

Acceptance (hukam rajai chalna) is not direct realization, it’s submission to god but not separating from your identity hence not the ultimate realization. It’s an acquired process and does not happen instantly and hence must be practiced everyday to be pioneered. The more you practice it the farther you go from your ego and reach ultimate realization. I think it is the easiest and most beautiful path to realization - the path of slow and gradual submission.

I never knew how to reconcile the fact that I didn't seem to have the ability to be fearless and optimistic because of my brain chemistry. It is critical in undestanding Sikhi that you distinguish between Ego and Pride. The later is one of the 5 Thieves the former is the delusional concept of 'Self' Self does have a purpose, it makes 'us' corporeal but it is just a tool, a cloak we wear, a character the Guru plays. It is not reality but we express reality with it in order to learn, and why do we need to learn ? Because we are the nerve endings of the Guru tasked with experiencing this Illusion it has created and reporting back.

Our faults are not our enemies ..they are our tools..our weapons. Sikhi teaches us the ultimate goal is to lose the concept of "I". Without a "You" or "Me" and an "I" "One" cannot lose the "I" We begin this game not in comfort..we begin the game under direct fire. There would be no point to the game if it was easy and did not invoke struggle. Sikhi struggle..that is our way of life. You need and I need to realise we do not need the I but we can make use of it.

Like the tadpole's tail, the ego will and should shrink away only at the right time. Let the "saatvic" ego remain, like the snake around Lord Siva, then it becomes a 'Bhooshan' - an ornament. The ego remains saatvic (balanced) when the buddhi, the intellect is in command. It's impossible to live without a semblance of the ego - the "i am ness" , the sense of individuality. But as long as this ego is tempered with the true understanding that my true essence is Sat-Chit-Ananda (Absolute Existence-Awareness-Bliss) and I mentally bow down to the spiritual teacher (the Guru) and to Ishvar (the bestower of the fruits of our actions - the karma phala daataa), the ego cannot harm, it'll only be an asset, be an ornament that adorns us.

I have slept and woken up in Soho doorways. I have thrown punches around and have had much discourse with policemen. I have kept the company of hookers, killers and Hells Angels. It was and is all the Guru. We all get different lessons in this existence tailored to suite the illusion we call self. And self is not wrong..even self is The Guru. Why..Only the Gurus knows but I think..This is THE Game Of Love. The Guru creates my illusion of self because The Guru has a reason. There are many ways to find the path..mine was just a little more in step with Moon The Loon ( The Who Drummer who left this existence with a bang) Many of you will know this song, I hope so it is Archetypally British Rock. But after listening to Satpal..have another go on it..then ask yourselves........... Who are you? Who, who, who, who? Who are you? Who, who, who, who? Who are you? Who, who, who, who? Who are you? Who, who, who, who? I woke up in a Soho doorway A policeman knew my name He said, "You can go sleep at home tonight If you can get up and walk away." I staggered back to the underground And the breeze blew back my hair I remember throwin' punches around And preachin' from my chair Well, who are you? (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?) I really wanna know (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?) Tell me, who are you? (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?) 'Cause I really wanna know (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?) I took the tube back out of town Back to the Rollin' Pin I felt a little like a dying clown With a streak of Rin Tin Tin I stretched back and I hiccuped And looked back on my busy day Eleven hours in the Tin Pan God, there's got to be another way Well, who are you? (who are you? Who, who, who, who?) Oh, who are you? (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?) Come on tell me who are you? (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?) Alright who the f**k are you? (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?) I know there's a place you walked Where love falls from the trees My heart is like a broken cup I only feel right on my knees I spit out like a sewer hole Yet still receive your kiss How can I measure up to anyone now After such a love as this? Well, who are you? (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?) Come on tell me who are you (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?) Oh, I really wanna know (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?) Hi veerji I hope you are keeping well and safe. Sorry I have very limited knowledge but according to Japji Sahib all actions including pilgrimages, charity and compassion are only worth a iota of worth in the divines court without naam. Every Ang of Sri Guru Granth Sahib is a manual on Naam and Hukam. Once naam starts to reside in your mind virtues such as honesty, compassion will become automatic as this is our true nature. The Gurbani I am taking reference to from Japji Sahib is 'theerath tap daya dat daan jay ko paavei til kaa mann sunnia mannia mann keetha bhao antargath tirath maal bhao' Sorry for all my mistakes veerji I hope the above helps 🙏

Brotherc Hukam isn’t just going with the flow. Though, going w the flow is a part of it. Hukam is roughly translated as “the will”. But Hukam itself is the ultimate reality. It is the reality which gives birth to all other tralities. Hukam is the foundation of existence itself. When all words fails to describe the beginning-less beginning, it is “the hukam” that becomes the very foundation of that level of understanding. Guru Nanak said, no one can speak about the Hukam but everything is Hukam. We can talk and talk but still won’t be able to decipher what Hukam really is. Hukam is everything & everything is in Hukam. Hukam is this. Hukam is that.

There are 2 sides to this. You give the money because we ARE one. But the other side, the person just might be saying this to you for the money. What I would say is: I work for this money, and you can aswell. This money which you are asking for, you will get it if you work. Maybe even more!

Something similar I’m dealing with. I was always taught by my dad to not trust anyone easily when it comes to finances. But it’s difficult especially when you don’t wanna be selfish. Idk if I’m right or wrong but so far how I deal with it is that if I have the capability to help someone financially who’s in genuine need then I do but if I know I don’t have sufficient funds or that the other person might not be genuine then I take it as hukam too & let that person deal with it through their way! I often ask myself that what did I do to even make this money ? The answer: I had no capacity on my own. This body is a gift which I used to make these resources so if someone needs help I will go for it but yes if someone’s just using you then again we gotta do the right thing of taking a stand. Maybe that’s that person’s hukam to start working hard & be genuine.

But my question is why God has filled us with ego or all other elements he doesn’t like or likes us to fight with and still resides within us and we reside in one…. Why don’t animals or other creatures have ego, pride, etc. and are still created by almighty and he is within them too… so why humans have complicated brain to find ways to go along hukam/ god’s wish …. Hell ya we r on profit side thanks to god for giving birth and still its not enough for us we want to experience god again or he wants to be alive from within us …. I am totally confused….

Hi clueless, sikhism allows any fortunate pre-ordained man on planet Earth to meet know and assimilate with the One Lord Infinite Eternal Creator direct one to one, before their death here in Time. And that divine path in true faith believe love & trust in endurance & perseverance to assimilation is given taught & knowledged by The True Guru (SatGuru). All your cleverness intellect & thinking cannot comprehend the divine knowledge of the Guru Granth Sahib no matter how many billions give their opinions considerations or claims to you or you take those yourself. And, sikhism is a "true religion" from page 1-1430. Japji declares it on P7 go find it whosoever needs to, am not a spoon feeder. The more I hear about Sikhi, the more I am convinced Sikh philosophy is 100% Vedanta. It's core is jnana-bhakti. The beard, the turban, the kada etc are external symbols that characterised the region - Punjab. Guru Gobind Singhji's Khalsa gave a separate name and form to an existant faith. Later priesthood and murtis were totally stripped away. Sanskrit was replaced by Gurmukhi. Sikhi in it's core is Sanatana Dharma, pure and simple. It's practise is the bhakti way, with vedic-puranic rituals stripped away, with Sanatana murtis and symbols dropped and replaced with other symbols, with worship conducted purely in the form of kirtan. Listen to Prof Jagbir Singh's videos on KZread.
