Skyrim is 100 times better than this, at the very least, you can actually go from one place to another in Skyrim without being forced to fast travel. It's like they get rid of the open world part of Skyrim and just have you fast travel to dungeons and cities

Your ship has three different types of guns by default: Laser, Ballistics and Missiles. Laser is for shields, Ballistics against hull and missiles are homing. You just didn't have any power allocated to anything other than Lasers.

i dont think Todd does very much besides represent the company anymore. I remember him talking about bouncing boobs in skyrim mods, saying it would take "30 minutes" to do. it doesnt sound like he understands quite what theyre doing anymore. hes deviated from programming to marketing, and thats fine. but its really no longer Todd making the games. hasnt been for probably like 10 years of bethesda's like 34 years of existence or however long theyve been around

the programmers from old bethesda were gods among men. Daggerfall was supposed to be like 10x as ambitious. they really wanted to set a much higher standard for gaming but didnt have the graphical skills. now that we have the graphical skills our character cant jump higher or run faster than anyone else and theres a lot of content cut from vital parts of the game

My grandpa worked on the rocket programs for the Atlas and the Atlas-Centaur rockets. He said it took them 34 loading screens to get to the Moon, and 7 to leave the atmosphere.

You can jump normally by switching to scanner and looking at the waypoint in space. You also want to keep your velocity in the white area to turn faster.

Truly, bethesda are innovaters for making an infinite number of barren flat wastelands. An inspiration to us all.

Getting to hate the conversations that are used to dump setting details when you enter a new place, like the argument about employment on Mars - running around and hearing them through so many walls because the game is slapping you going STAND THERE AND LISTEN ITS IMPORTANT

That's not in small parts because 1: Oboe was using a crappy starter ship 2: Oboe was using it poorly (for instance, you get three different weapon systems but he only had allocated power to the lasers which are only good against shields).

Too bad 80% of the space travel gameplay is to pin a point on the map and press X to launch a cinematic and a loading screen. Would've loved to see more actual piloting and doing more things from the cockpit

while i am not saying you are completely wrong i think you also need to consider how incredibly vast space is. even at the closest possible distance it would take you over 3 minutes traveling at LIGHT SPEED to get from earth to mars. and thats 3 minutes of flying in a straight line with nothing else going on in the best possible case. glad they didnt put that in

@@AltFromTheLimbo bro, you should play NMS a lot more. It has... oh my god, it has so much stuff to discover. Ghostly freighters, randomized cities/settlements on planets, tons of construction parts for your base, and I play in VR - nothing beats flying in your spaceship within a beautiful star system, only to enter some epic space battles and returning to your home base for some new decorations. For me, Starfield feels very boring and "constructed" , but that is only me. Have fun in any game you play!

@@AltFromTheLimbo Oh yes, because this game has so much more to offer, everything in this game is shallow. The world, NPC's, writing and exploration. Starfield managed to be the most apathetic game to come out... Almost to the level of Cyberpunk. Not even flying through the galaxy and going to another planet you can... Everything has to be done via the map. It's a joke. What I feel when I play Starfield is like everything is just there for appearance. It made me see the immense quality that is BG3 as an rpg. Starfield is a shooter in a giant, empty world. If that's the best bethesda can do in 10 years... I fear for the quality of TES6.

You can see Earths continents, but you had the resources showing. Although Earth is kinda disappointing.
