I really like Trench Club. Its a fantastic battle game offering a strong ww1 aesthetics, a tight xp and damage system and a relatively clean rule system. I would have been interested in this except that last weekend I saw Warlord Games Vanguard preview copy and that looks like a stronger ww2 battle game contender, similar to Tide or Iron in appearance. I'll see how much this will cost first. 10 years ago I was low on good ww2 games, but now I'm drowning in them.

@TheDiscriminatingGamer my shelves have almost reached wine cellar levels of decadence. I can probably find a ww2 game to pair with anything.

It will be interesting to see if the solo/co-op is a viable method of gameplay. Will it have a bunch of branching orders mitigated by die rolls and situations or card play?

Looks like a mini version of Company of Heroes but is not very appealing overall.

Basically, another version of Trench Club. Not much difference between the two, but in Trench Club you get a more units. This version is not appealing to me.

Hi, Philipp here, the creator of Aces & Armor and Trench Club. The games have the same core game mechanism but a different gameplay, tailored to WW1 vs WW2. E.g., in Trench Club, static fronts build up quickly vs. Aces & Armor is more dynamic. We will provide a more detailed comparison on the campaign page when it launches on 6/25. Quick note to the number of units: Aces & Armor has about the same number of units per player (12 in Aces & Armor vs. 11 in Trench Club), but each player only has 6 different types of units (vs. 11 in Trench Club). However, these 6 are asymmetric to the the other players, meaning there are 24 different unit types in the game (vs. Trench Club, where 10 out of the 11 units where the same for all players). Stay tuned for the Kickstarter campaign page that will explain everything in details. Make sure to sign up here to get notified on launch: aces-and-armor.com
