I picked this one up on the reprint, seems like a fun, light war game. Only played it once so far, but we liked it a lot. I replaced the dice in the dice box with the same sized and colored dice, but dice with rounded corners. We played the game with the square cornered dice that came with the dice box and the box was a bit fiddly. Using the same sized dice, but dice with rounded corners instead of the squared cornered dice, seems to make a very noticeable difference and ease of use with the shaker box. I really really hope Renagade reprints A&A Battle of the Bulge next!

That sounds like a good idea about the dice. Yeah, I hope we see Battle of the Bulge again, too. Next up is AA North Africa - an entirely new game. Looking forward to that one.
Replacement Battlebox seen in BGG for this game. Sheet of paper with the 12 die sections colored as in box and the 3 lines for combat. You then get colored dice that match the colors on the paper, so first position is red as an example. That way can roll up to 12 dice in a dice box so many use. Then match up the colors of the dice to their positions on the paper sheet.

@@richardpomeroy9290 I didn’t find the rules here any more complex that standard AA, just different. In fact, I found this one rather refreshing.
Thanks! I can’t wait for North Africa!

Indeed. Thanks!
I have always loved this edition of A&A. It's somewhat less scripted than other versions...even with the prescribed order of movement. The I-go-U-go dance allows for some deception and misdirection. Both players are fully involved in the game...no downtime. It's also very balanced...the game ends with sides within 2-3 victory points of each other. And compared to most other A&A titles, this game ends in 2.5-3 hours. It is a bit fiddly...the little box has it's issues, but is still its own bit of genius. I'm glad it's available again.

Great points. This is really a good game. Thanks.
Local game store hangout owner showed me this one last night…looks fun…the informal video format you used was great to show the game…also nice to hear another viewpoint…

Thanks. Glad you liked it.
Brilliant video format, Cody. I liked listening to this one with your friend there. More in the future. Great review.

Thanks. We’ll see more like this, I’m sure.
I have the earlier version. Bought it over ten years ago. It was on sale. Never played it.

Get to the table as soon as you can. Great game.
Great video. I actually have the original version of this game, from 2007, but I have never played it. I'm going to have to break this one out now. I really like the A & A games that feature individual battles, like D-Day and Battle of the Bulge.

I've personally thought about drawing my own map for that on the back of wrapping paper.
Have you ever played A&A D-Day? The best A&A game in my opinion.

Yes, I played it back in the day. Probably my least favorite AA title, although I enjoyed it. I would like to play it again.

Funny this revival of Axis and Allies… Anniversary still the best for me…

That's a great set. I'm sure sooner or later they'll reprint that one.
You can load transports from different areas, but you have to unload them to one territory only

Indeed. Thanks.
I haven't played that in ages. Is the reprint in any way different from the first edition? I once participated in an online campaign by WotC (Ithink) were the combat on the board was resolved by A&A Minatures games played by the community. We submitted after-action reports to the campaign team and they translated that information back to the board.

That sounds awesome. What a great way to play. I believe it is a straight reprint. I don't know that there are any changes.
I really enjoyed this review. Thanks for the insight. I was wondering if it would play well solo ?

I guess you could play against yourself, but it really is designed for two players.
I hate the battle box too lol
