This was always one of my favorite bumpers. I love the noir feel of it and that tribute to Edward Hopper's 'Nighthawks' at the end...absolute tops!

I knew some of those clips looked familiar! They got some clips from Killer's Kiss. Yeah! 1957, one of Stanley Kubrick's early films. I'm seeing Killer's Kiss for the first time thanks to the Criterion Collection's release of The Killing.

I get every second counts on cable channels, but since they are a premium channel without commercials, you'd think they wouldn't sacrifice stuff like this. The original intro to Noir Alley was amazing. Now, it's a 3 second bumper.

I really miss that they don't use this bumper anymore!! It just set the mood. Like everything else, what they use now is dumbed down, really quick and flat. TCM used to be classy like the movies they show. The new fillers aren't worth watching. The movies are. So glad they felt they had to improve things over at TCM!🤣

There are one or two variations on this where the sax solo is different. Any chance you could upload that/those in HD? Thanks so much for this upload, btw, the sound and picture are gloriously crisp.
