TCM Writer/producer Jean Franz worked with Guillotine Post founder/editor Michael Koepenick to create this "Word of Mouth" series piece with Joanne Woodward talking about John Garfield's acting technique in the 1946 classic film "The Postman Always Rings Twice". This clip is before it was conformed with the TCM Word of Mouth graphics at the beginning and end.

Great, great actor....but not the best.
I'm a huge Garfield fan. Appreciative comment by Ms Woodward, whose husband, Paul Newman could have played the Garfield role.

John Garfield a great actor hounded because of his political beliefs. RIP
