try some air as in those electronic canned compressed air Thats what worked for me

I’ve tried so many KZread tutorials, and so many long videos. One migraine later Either None of those actually helped what so ever or I didn’t have that specific roku remote. This was quick, easy and clear! Thanks for your help!

Thanks! My big bro taught me how to "clean dirty switches" as a kid. I forgot it works on most things! Some electronics should never be shaken--going crazy w/the switches to loosen the muck is enough, in those instances.

OMG, I cannot believe this actually worked! For the past year whenever my remote doesn't work, I just use the Roku app on my phone to control the TV. It's been so strange, because the remote won't work for a week or two, and then suddenly it starts working again. So I just decided today to see if there was a reason the Roku remote disconnects from the TV at random intervals and came across this video. I was so doubtful, but I figured just keep trying it so on the third try, it worked! Thank you so much!

I've got to admit that I thought this had a very small chance of working. I had already pressed the buttons, but apparently I had not sufficiently abused them. This method worked the first time I tried it. GREAT SOLUTION!

Adding on to everyone else’s similar comments here, it also worked for me! I had no hopes of it working but I gave it a half hearted try. I looked up and saw the TV was on. Couldn’t believe it! Promptly cancelled my Amazon overnight order for a new remote! Yay for saving money! 🎉

3 weeks before the 1-year warranty ran out, my remote stopped working. Contacted Roku support and got a replacement. About to throw out the old remote but came across this video and it worked !!! Now I got a spare. Thanks.

I can't believe that worked, I had already took it apart and cleaned it, had one battery that was leaking. These remotes are cheap and flaky, never seen so many battery issues with these, another tcl my gf had died and ate batteries and she bough the voice remote, the reset is what fixed mine, there was some battery corrision on the terminals inside as well, cheap batteries but also this thing drains them more than other remotes, Thanks!

I also thought this was a troll video but I was already committed... Low and behold it works. Had to just rush to cancel the new one my gf was about to get from Amazon! 🤣😅🤣

Holy shit this actually worked Edit: It stopped working again, and it looks like for good this time, However if your remote doesn't work download the Roku app on your phone, connect your TV and you can use your phone as a remote which is much better than the regular remote

Yeah same here..it was working fine Monday, didn't use it Tuesday, and Wednesday none of the TCL TV's were responding to it...the IR light works on all buttons but the TVs don't read it..wtf?

It worked! I was very skeptical, but with nothing to lose I gave it a shot. Works like new again:) THANKS!!!

Thought this was bs but it actually worked. Remote hasn't worked in months was knocked over on floor by accident, remote just stopped working. Tried this and worked 👍🏻.

I thought this was a joke, but it worked!!! I took the added step after pressing all the buttons of dragging out my vacuum cleaner and put the hose directly against the face of the remote to pull out any excess or loosened dirt. I then went to the TV and it turned on immediately. Terrific advice!

In case it helps others, I repeated the process three times, it didn’t work, BUT then I rebooted my TV, repeated the process one more time, and it DID work. So if you had no luck, maybe try rebooting the TV as well. Thanks for making this video!

This is a AWESOME trick! Initially I thought whatever💁‍♀️, nothing is ever THAT SIMPLE anymore. Like a good ol fashion smacking around the remote isn’t going to work🤦‍♀️ This isn’t the 80’s or 90’s😂 To my surprise this little trick had my remote working like new again within seconds!
