EXCELLENT video! After doing the flashlight test (shine a flashlight on your "dead" screen in a dark room and you can see the home screen), it was clear the TV was fine and I had a bad LED strip that was triggering all the lights to turn off (it would flash the home screen for like half a second on start up). Followed this step by step to a full repair. New LEDs were less than $40 on eBay. Notes: 1) Buy suction cups to move the screen... you're gonna break it otherwise 2) Label all the screws and pieces you pull off specifically... it's a million screws 3) Don't leave the suction cups on your screen too long as it will leave a ring in the picture when the TV is back together 4) Go SLOW...the first big part I took off was the back cover and the wire to the remote receiver is short. I cracked the side of the little plastic seat on the main board it attached to, but it still was able to reconnect and works fine, but it was a close call. 5) assure you have the right, small, magnetic Phillips tip for your screw gun. They are very shallow and VERY easy to strip. There were two that I stripped and ended up drilling out. Thank you for the detailed video! Ps. Great guide thanks. Very useful! Unfortunately replaceing the LED's did not fix my TCL TV, nor did replaceing all the components (Mother board, power and t-con board) . Bummer!

I loved the video, however it's too complicated for me. I think instead of repairing it I will have to do the inevitable and buy a new TV. Plus I have butterfingers and that's all I need to do is break something while I'm trying to pull it apart. Outstanding video though.❤

@@fmo9213Non, un des bandeaux LED était HS et donc absence totale d'éclairage. On pouvait, à l'aide d'une lampe, voir l'image quand la TV était allumée.

Just got mine off of Ebay; Amazon only had smaller TV backlights

I have a TCL roku tv that doesn't have any power ,does that mean I need to replace power supply?please help😢

I have the same TV and it went dark. Was so excited to find this video. Just spent the last three hours meticulously following the instructions here and got all done...... NOTHING. Still dark. So I now have all new LEDs I probably didn't need. What else could it be?

So I replaced the strips and did every step that you asked in this video. It works butttt.......I see the light strip shadow I guess coming through the tv screen. Is there a way to prevent this? Would covering the strips with the white film that I cut out to remove the strips? Any help would be great. Thanks

You probably used double sided "mounting" tapes instead of "thermal"

I have the same issue…

I have a "75 and the screen turns dark from the corner after around 2 min of turning it on. Tho you can still hear the sound if you play a video just that the screen turns black

I have a 65 inch hisence model 65h6e it turns on displays the name and then immediately shuts off and the power button light flashes red 4 to 5 I replaced the power supply board and nothing changed I’m thinking it might be the main board but I don’t wanna waste the money without knowing like I’ve already done on the other board lol any help would be appreciated

For anyone else who may do this; do yourself a favor and try to preserve and replace as much of that white reflector screen as possible. If you don't than you will see 12 dark lines down your screen once completed and powering on the TV. This also did not solve my issue.. TV makes sound but there's still just a (lit) black screen... any suggestions? THANKS!
