They absolutely nail the ending. So many conductors slow it down. This reminds me of the landmark Dorati interpretation.

HappyWandy457, this is not only a superb version of a great (not "kleinen") Tschaikowsky-Symphonie, done by youngsters capable of sound of the best, with unique sense of dynamics musically speaking, but it represents today probably the only hope towards an art which is about to desapear in the world. We all ought to thank these lovely kids, which represent an ideal of humanity. Hans Fröhlich - Germany.

The second best version I've heard after Karajan records. On good hands this symphony sounds as it really is : a jewel.

Manuel López Gómez and and the Youthful Venezuelans play energetically and joyously! I had a inspiring, emotional experience during all 5 parts of this video.(Please put on one full video!). To play the 5 parts on auto sequence, one has to start with the forth movement Finale and work backward to the first movement, not my preferred way to listen. This backward sequencing seems to be in effect for all the symphonies of this wonderful orchestra. These delightful entries deserve better!

It still exists in 2021. As corrupt as the Venezuelan government has been, it still strongly supported El Sistema and even covered its costs.

robert m, I totally agree with you; a superb performance of this unjustly neglected work. I too had an inspiring, emotional experience in watching this. It is also the finest reading of the work I've heard in some time. I've heard Gergiev live recently in this work and hated it, and even Svetlanov, who is very good in so many of his readings is not up to snuff in this work. Pletnev isn't at all insightful in his reading. Note, by the way, that this conductor does not use a score when he conducts, with which I was very impressed, considering that the work is not well known. I agree that it should be re-posted so that it can be listened to continuously from beginning to end. (I did not appreciate having the first movement split in two either.) I managed to listen to the movements in their proper order, but it was a very laborious process, continuously revisiting the channel for each movement. On this channel, I also saw the Tchaikovsky Fourth and Fifth Symphonies posted. I found the Fourth to be quite a disappointment, not, I must hasten to add, because of the playing, which is exemplary, but because of the poor work by the conductor, along with very poor camera work. I plan to check out the Fifth tomorrow.
