In my entire life I have listened to this piece a thousand times...and never once can I cut it short! All movements are sublime and the third is well...his soul as well as ours...shared.

played this freshmen year of high school over 15 years ago and snippets of it would just float back into my head from time to time. I had forgotten the composer and name and finally found it again through musipedia. Brings back a lot of good memories, including the anxiety I would feel tackling some of those runs on 1st violin. It's a beautiful piece and I'm glad I found a good version to come back to.

I'm doing this in my HS orchestra tomorrow. It's pretty grueling, but the violins have it the worst. A bassist like myself shouldn't complain to much.

I love the looks of joy on their faces as they play the amazing music that Tchaikovsky wrote for them. Each player in the ensemble thinks they have the best part--the sign of a great orchestrator. This what highly talented people do to get a mutual high. They certainly lit me up!

Ahh I remember playing the entire serenade as a 9th grader and ever since then it has been my favorite piece for strings! This is by far the best recording I have found. I love the sound the ensemble is able to produce and the passion poured into the piece. Simply amazing.

Always interesting seeing performances where the person 'conducting' is actually one of the musicians (at least I believe that's what the 1st chair violin is doing). Brilliant performance of a difficult piece to pull off so thoroughly masterful as this. Thank you for sharing it!

i know everyone here is because your orchestra is tasked with this monstrosity, as i’m guilty of this as well, and all i have to say is good luck with this vErY fUn piece. our hs symphony teacher, however, decided to take it a whole five steps further than necessary: we have three tests in the hardests sections and our teacher refuses to acknowledge the disaster that is our cello section (which i am unfortunately a part of) and when she does she goes out of her way to find nOt the easier, but the eASIEST parts as another strategy to ignore the most awful cello sections ive ever laid my eyes on difficulty wise, meaning all of us are tasked of spending our own time to learn this monstrosity. auditioning for the advanced orchestra as a freshman (basically unheard of) was a bad idea and i’m currently facing the repercussions while writing this as a way to procrastinate analyzing shifting patterns if you’re still reading this and you happen to be a violinist, i’m truly praying for your sanity

I'm a 9th grader playing this in 2 days.I;m so scared our cello setion is great and so is our bass. But like first violins and seconds are barely pulling through. Im a second btw. I've been practicing a lot but got injured a while ago and this will be my first performance since my injury. I'm super nervous. I hope we can make it sound ok and pull through.
