yeah, trust me, in that openess, you can get 5km with stock 14sg radio, no problem, i do it every week here in florida. The reason I don't use UHF on the Discovery is because we are limited on the battery to go any further, soon, i will build my QAV 500 with an 8000mah battery and then I will use UHF for super long distances. I still and will always love my TBS. Nicest looking quad on the market n my opinion...I

did this same flight with stock 14sg and 5.8 video and got 4.3 kilometers over the florida everglades, didn't even need UHF. only difference I see was that at 4.5 kilometers, your video was really clear, mine started getting a little fuzzy. But nice video indeed. I 'm starting to realize when I fly in nice open areas, I don't need all that long range equipment.....

Atti mode you will travel about 20% faster too.

no I don't, use the zippy 5000mah compact, they fit perfect with room to spare...
