TBS Crossfire Vs Tracer

I recently purchaced the new TBS tracer control link. So I decided to do a blind test to see if I could tell the difference between running crossfire and tracer on two identical tiny trainer setups.

Hey man, this was the best video I've seen on Crossfire/Tracer yet! I think you convinced me to check out Tracer for the 2021 season. I'll see you in the TT Winter Series (Kilo Foxtrot).

I have crsf in my tx16s and I just got a mambo for tracer. I’m liking the feel of the transmitter. My question is can I take the micro tx and stick it in my mambo and run CRSF without any other scripts? And vice versa. Can I get a Tracer module and run that in the tx16s without any other Lua script needed? Or is there specific Lua for crsf and tracer?

Just to clarify...Are you running the Mini-Mortal T Crossfire antenna with Tracer? Working fine even though it's not tuned to 2.4hgz? Thanks for the video! Great comparison, I'm sold!

They need different receivers? I have a few kwads with crossfire but I need a module for my jumper t16 and thought about the new tracer but it won’t work with my old crossfire kwads . Should I replace all receivers or get the old crossfire

Yes you will need the tracer module and tracer recievers since tracer uses 2.4ghz and crossfire uses 900mhz.

Crossfire is better for range by far. Its 900mhz which will go much further than any 2.4ghz system. So for a long range plane I would use crossfire hands down. It is the gold standard for long range.

@@pilotincommandfpv2431 hi bro, when you’re talking about Long Range is up to how many KM? Because I was checking out a Mr.Steele review and he told that linked with DJI goggles he is able to go to the limits of the vtx in 1200mw even in bandos and he never had even a micro failsafe 🤷🏻‍♂️

  • @pilotincommandfpv2431

@@charlsfpv8464 it depends on the module. If you buy the big crossfire module that can go up to to 2 watts and you are flying in an open area then tbs claims you can get up to 40km of range. If you buy the micro module that can do 500mw and you are flying around bandos you probably wont failsafe since 900mhz has better signal penetration through solid objects.

Already have crossfire in several kwads, but wanna try tracer. Do you think flying the tracer and crossfire in the same flying day would cause some issues with flying/timing? For example, if I'm more used to it being faster on Tracer, when I go back to a crossfire kwad, will I feel the difference? Be super noticeable? Afraid I'd like tracers latency that much better that I'd want to upgrade all of my kwads to tracer, which I'd rather not due being heavily invested in crossfire already. What's your thoughts?
