Tazio Nuvolari: The Golden G.O.A.T

Ok this has taken way too long to finish! Now this is not to ruffle feathers as i said, but honestly if there was a GOAT, well i don't think any driver would argue that Tazio was not it. But it was a different era of course and we will never know. Let me know who your G.O.A.G Greatest of a Generation is below! ;) would love to hear who you think deserves the title.
Also as ever sorry for pronunciation.

So who is your Greatest of their Generation? I wanted to bring attention to a future star on this video as well: Aussie teen Grace Howard is looking to make her future in the fine world of motorsport. She is the only Aussie to make it into the final 50 for the Formula Women McLaren GT4 seat! How ever it is not cheap to get from Australia to England so she needs a little help. If you can spare $1 here or there then please aid her out and give her a shot to make it to the world stage to show off her skills. www.formulawoman.co.uk/ www.gofundme.com/f/6kbjhs-grace-needs-your-help?+share-sheet&

I agree, nuvolari is the goat. His win at the Nurburgring is the greatest race in history, he was the biggest underdog, he had all the odds against him, no one, not even enzo ferrari believed they could win and yet tazio pulled off the impossible, he beat the germans in their own circuit with ridicously inferior machinery and with a 2:45 minutes long pit stop while the germans were pitting in 0:45 seconds

He had a habit of pulling out the: "once in a life time" drives every other week haha. It is always a shame that he is often forgotten on best of lists because he truly was one of the very best.

I understand your point comparing drivers of one generation to another. But consider this; a man who knew Nuvolari, Ferdinand Porsche said he was the greatest driver of all time, past, present and future. Of course they are both long gone but I believe Porsche was one of the greatest automotive engineers at the time and possibly of all time.

Carocciola, Italian, was MB top driver during this period. Nuvolari, also Italian, would soon drive for AU.

I watched a great program on sbs a while ago called Hitler’s Supercars. Can’t find it on KZread, or I would have put a link here. Worth seeking it out. Might be available on SBS On Demand, maybe?

thanks Gail, will have to hunt it down. :D it is a really interesting time and how the Merc and Auto Union were used. Dick Seaman was often portrayed or called a member of the party because he was one of the new none German or Italians to drive for the teams. As i said with Tazio's impossible win German proper gander was in full swing even for racing.

@@Skreezilla Speaking of Lancia Rallying, I pulled into the parking lot at work a few weeks back (probably December not long before Christmas) and I see a small 4-door boxy red hatchback with distinctive rims. I pull up closer and lo and behold it’s a Delta Integrale. I never expected to see one in person let alone at the parking lot for my fucking job.

@@Skreezilla I believe Toivonen would’ve been one of the all time greats had he not gone off that cliff. Also, had Citroën embraced AWD earlier for the SM, then I believe they could’ve produced a number of “greats” as well.

Rohrl is the goat of rally no doubt, but in the history of motorsport you’d have to lean towards nuvolari, gilles, senna, fangio, lauda
