Thank you for feeding us Swifties more Taylor content! These Grammy Museum performances are the best. It's so heartwarming to witness you guys basking in the awesome talent that is Ms. Swift. Oh, and I can't stand recorders.

Recorder, lol. Anyways, this is a little bit of a rock cover of one of her pop songs. It's off her first pure-pop album, 1989. She has some other rock covers of her pop songs, like her fan favorite rock cover of We Are Never Getting Back Together from her 1989 world tour - and that song is incredibly pop-y, so it's cool how easily she is able to flip it into a rock song. What you were talking about with the difficulty of placing this is into a genre is why I generally would just call Taylor Swift an artist. She takes inspiration from whatever direction it comes from and she isn't really wed to any specific genre. Even on a pure country album like Speak Now, she has a song, The Story of Us, with some really heavy rock influence. And while she is considered to be just a pop artist at the moment, her album Reputation was chock full of trap and R&B elements, and her latest album Midnights is electronica, synth-heavy, and I've heard it described as "dream-pop," which I think really captures the vibe. Not to mention the two previous albums, Folklore and Evermore, which were very folk-y. So yeah, I think if you want to categorize her, it's most accurate to simply categorize her as an artist. Not even a singer-songwriter: she's involved with every aspect of her songs, from writing the lyrics and melodies, to the instrumentation, to the production, and also the music videos. Not to mention the performance art that her tours are. Taylor Swift is involved in just about every level of the artistry involved in producing music. And that's also why her hardcore fanbase is unbothered by her routinely switching genres on us - we're invested in her artwork, period, not in her specifically as a country or pop or folk singer.

This is one my favorite all-time Taylor performances. She does a few more songs at this same Grammy Museum show and they are all amazing. "Out of the Woods" on the piano is one to check out. And she does "Blank Space" on the acoustic guitar and gives a great explanation for how she came up with that song.

RECORDER.... It is a phenomenon among the fandom to anticipate how she's gonna perform a song live because not only do we get to see her, but it's always different and amazing even if the studio version is fantastic just the way it is.

Taylor can do any genre and own it and make it hers, there's a reason why she won three Album Of The Year Grammys in three different genres (in three different decades too if I may add so)

Recorder. Her Grammy Museum performances and accoustic concerts (also live performances, of course) are always top-notch. She always sounds much better than recorded and also adds the attitude, the performance, twist to the songs, just... more. (The song is from 1989 and yes, the recorded version sounds different, it´s her most "pure pop" record). Agree in the part about "she is legit talent". Also, Midnights? Might be my favourite record from her ever. Not surprised about all that about breaking records and blah blah.
