I wrote it about alchemy and I will write it here too: Alchemy was based on Aristotle's cosmology, at least in Europe and the Middle East. Bottom line, both songs are about Travis, and I'm here for it. This album is fantastic, so mature and so deep. She lets her audience in on her inner thoughts. How she felt in prison with Joe, how she desperately wanted these six years back with Matty Healy who couldn't give it to her because he was just too small of a man, and how Travis came into her life, who funnily enough she first rejected. The difference between Travis and all the other amateurs is: That he doesn't want to overshadow her, he loves it when she shines through and through. You can see that in his gestures and the way he treats her old-school and very classy. I wish them both nothing but the best.

People loved to say that this line was bad or cringey (of course one’s allowed their opinion) but first of all it’s supposed to feel child-like because it’s written from a teenager pov, and secondly: i feel like people just don’t know how to immerse themselves in a song anymore. like truly listen to the lyrics, sit in a field at sunset and experience the song: it’s imagery. we’re supposed to imagine the scene that you said. Taylor is truly a great lyricist 🥰
