It's not "awkward", I mean guys I know it's hard for you to understand but it's not a kind of "Ellen Show" or something. It's a different kind of show, where famous people like politicians, actors or writers came to dinner and they answer to questions during the dinner. It's a different type of talk show, and maybe it wasn't the place to be for Taylor because teenagers/young adults don't really watch it. Actually 2 days ago she was on another french talk show "Le Grand Journal" and it was totally different (She was dancing with the presenter during her "Shake it off" performance) It's just another concept of talk show. Plus you have to know that Taylor Swift is not very popular in France. People don't really know her except for "We are never ever getting back together". I understand that it could be very strange for an American because she's a real superstar in your country, but she's almost unknown here (even if she's a superstar in neighboring countries like the UK too). Sorry for my bad english, I hope you will understand what I'm saying :D

I do think it is an awkward performance... HOWEVER what people aren't realising is exactly what you said, it's a different kind of talk show. Lord knows why they booked her, clearly it isn't the right kind of show for her promotion tour. Really poor decision from the show to book her.

the only part that is lip synced is the intro the bridge because even in the studio version, there is an effect added to make it sound very animated and almost have an electronic vibe to it, taylor doesn't actually sing that part because she wants her performances to be as accurate to the original as possible.

You're refering to the semi-rap part right? she just changed her voice because thats bit hard to sing, also she would be out of breath as i've sang it alot and it's a sudden change to the way you're singing the song and catches you of guard hese slightly changing your voice and making you short on breath
