The song.....Im still trying to figure out the video.... I mean, it isnt hardcore like that really, just for half of it. Taylor just wants the media to leave her love life alone. That seems to me to be what the song is mostly about. Our society keeps talented sensitive people in glass cages. In the softer verses, like, ..... ok, so the hard core Taylor is her coming back from the papparazzi and others driving her away for a period. Right, and she came back stronger. And she comes back ready for battle and with a strategy. In the rapping, Taylor is talking to a brand new love interest. And asking him if he"s going to use her, if he can handle getting harrassed by reporters and seeking private islands just to hang out. New lovw is a fragile thing. Like a baby, a new relationship has to be fed and nourtured. And the combo of Taylor's own issues and the issues and prejudices of the public, along with the tabloids, does not create a conducive climate for dating. Any new interest already knows who she is. She hasnt been able to walk down the streer since grade school. And the softer lyrics are like her soul that resents having to hide and to be all hard and to solve a whole complex mathematical formula just to have a cup of coffee with a friend or boyfriend. All the other symbols and the people dressed as robots....Im not sure what all that means. I kinda lean towars thinking there's Taylors underneath all the dark hoods. There's alot going on in this video. I still dont understand all of it. Feels like multiple layers. I sense it's her trying to make sense of things and reclaim her soul from those that will her as an object and not a talented poet, singer, musician,director, etc.
