not sure if you know the story behind this - but taylor spoke about it before a performance at the grammys - she said that the media paint her in the light of a person who is crazy, jets around the world putting men in her dungeon in her mansion and is totally crazy. she said that shes totally not like that at all but thought the character that they'd created would be an interesting one to portray - then she wrote blank space and made this music video. it's a satirical take on what the media portrays her to be. love your reactions! :]

She explains the reason she wrote this song in detail when she performs acoustically for her songs for the Grammy museum. She didn’t actually talk about it at the Grammys. It’s the Grammy museum.

I don't think this one is about an individual, but against how the media throws her under the bus in regards to her dating life. Some other ones - exile and marjorie (about her grandmother who was a famous opera singer). Those two a little bit slower, but gorgeous songwriting.
