This part made no sense to me. Someone else paid $400k for it and sold it to Freddy for $575k? This makes zero sense to me. Outside of KZread revenue, this car looks virtually valueless. I don't see $5700 worth of usable parts on it, never mind $575,000. I don't get it.

I love that Freddie is letting all of his friends make videos with his new car you can tell how excited he is about the project 🙂

I was thinking about that build while watching this video.

I understand sometimes Tavarish just needs to up the ante with his content but this is just nuts... Freshwater flood would be one thing, but salt water flood to the roof of an ungodly expensive car is psychotic. Even with that said I wish him the best of luck and I hope he is able to figure it out for all our enjoyment

Just considering dealing with a salt immersed car gives me a cold sweat, let alone actually spending half a million to purchase one, I hope Freddie has a strong heart. This is going to be one hell of a trip watching this car be stripped and restored, I hope he gets far more footage with this McLaren.

@@devilraydesigns body isnt the problem, its the electronics, modules,ecus, switches, electric motors, the engine and possible even the trans. Salt water attacks electronics like cancer. Lets not even talk about the fact that Copart sold it with a Certificate of Destruction which mean that it can never be titled as a rebuilt vehicle or driven legally on US roads.

This project is possible, but you have to ask yourself whether it is worth it. As in a worst case scenario it will bankrupt Tavarish while in a best case scenario Tavarish will break even by selling the cheapest P1 in the world.

It's the Holy Grail of all car rebuilds, and is definitely going to put him on the map much more so than ever before! Freddy himself said it best when he said there were a LOT of eyes on this, and it's like the whole world is going to be watching this. I think he'll be fine.

@@Cynycter No they can replace the parts. Its semantics at this point but since they did not build most of what is broken in this car in the first place i wonder if you can send it to Dallara so it could be done cheaper. Probably not due to some legal crap.

I'm in Fort Myers, FL, where Ian hit the hardest. Devastating disaster that's being undersold nationally. Was one of the worst storms to ever hit the US. Anyways, I live about 30 minutes away from Bonita where this P1 was for sale, and I remember seeing the car at Gulf Coast Motorworks' Cars & Coffee the month prior. Such a beautiful car, Volcano Yellow with the chrome wheels, amongst many spectacular cars in the Naples-Bonita-Fort Myers area. Owner had the car for just about a week unbelievably. It's surreal to see this car take the community by storm (no pun intended) considering I saw it here and there throughout 2022. This has been a fun story to track, best of luck to Tavarish, hopefully that car can return to its former glory as I once saw it.

@@RailRide - I don’t think anybody in the Naples area anticipated storm surge like that. He was prepped to ride it out.

Didn't Manny Khoshbin send his McLaren back to Woking to have the body completely replaced when he went from the blue/purple to the matte black or something like that? I think he ended up keeping all the body panels too, or he mentioned he did in one of his videos. It might be worth reaching out to him to see if it's true and he'd want to maybe sell it to you to help the build. But everyone is cheering for you Freddie and excited about this build.

Shmee told me yesterday that the video he filmed with Freddy was quite a while ago and he had already flown back to London twice. Which means on Shmee's video when we've seen the car after dry ice treatment it is a few months old. So the last video we've seen on Freddy's channel of him getting the car is several months old already and hopefully he is further along then what we think.

Also, Tavarish's 720 is still in operation and with 1200 miles on it per the Shmee video. When Freddy blew its engine up, he said it had 1500 miles since his rebuild. So the timeline is all mixed up.

Mclaren is notorious for not helping and this is just beyond repair. This car would need total rebuild and that body alone is totaled and that alone would make mclaren to stay away because it will be structural weakness unless tavarish is willing to pay few million for mclaren to rebuild this it will never be rebuild. Just lost cause.

Did you consider ordering custom made battery? The best company for that would be Rimac ,the are responsible for battery in Aston Martin Valkyrie which is nuts in case of the specs. It's long shoot but they might be interested in developing something like that as a product.

You should go back and watch his rebuild of the 675LT from start to finish. And then what happened just a couple weeks ago. I thought that one couldn't be topped, but this one definitely destroys it.

Hoovie used to have those stickers you could put over the dents in your car. Freddy should try some of those.

Rumor is Zak Brown from McLaren has been in contact with Freddie asking if he can help in a way. Freddie also has been to London twice apparently according to another KZreadr.

If he'd make more than one video every 4 months he'd have better numbers. Freddy is the one who got me addicted to car KZread. I'd love to see more than two videos of the build.

Freddie has a damn good track record for this kind of project.

This one has to be up there Jimmy's Elvis jet. But good luck to him, and it's great entertainment for us.

I would say it is a stroke of genius. Yes it will cost him a lot of money maybe close to $1mil to buy/rebuild. But it is famous, it is boosting his publicity on KZread, and will make a lot of money from subs, and if he sells it will make money. Full respect and hope the build goes well

In my 30years of insurance/bodyshop/junk jobs, the salvage price should be 20% of the uncrashed value. Good luck

It's relatively close to 20%, but I would assume that it's a bit higher for collector cars like this one.

This video made me remember the chaos this hurricane cause in Florida. I remember my college I go to (UF) did not announce classes cancelled till the day before it was suppose to hit so that was fun to pack and drive back when you have like 18 hours till it hit😂

This is a car worth saving. The amount it will cost just to make it run again will be a lot, but I think it deserves to be on the road again one day.

Im curious does the distance it floated down the street count toward the mileage?

The Copart listing showed a Florida destruction title - which means a parts only car that can’t be registered anywhere in the USA. How are you planning to get around this issue?

yeah would probably tough too to order original parts from the dealers with a title like that.

With your channel size and scope of these two builds Renaissance Speed might work with you on both of your McLaren builds and I have to admit I would LOVE TO SEE IT. Then maybe a complete P1 GTR conversion it from Lanzante. With the RS built ICE engine and the upgraded battery pack having the fastest highest HP P1 in the 1200-1500 HP range at the tires isn't impossible. With the 675LT I think you could go a few ways with it's motor, maybe a reliable 850-900whp or you could take it much much higher. They claim their built engines are good for up to 2000HP. With the way your 675LT turned out I really think building the 3.8 to be a 4.2 stroker making in the 900-950hp range would be perfect. Then because the P1 is the ultimate McLaren you could do some of the stuff in the engine that would be harder to justify on the 675LT but get something in the 1200-1400whp range from just the ICE. I know it sounds crazy but when Kim Kardashian "claimed" she broke the internet whatever direction you decide to take between these two builds could 100% break the automotive KZread side of things and I also see there being a great deal of interest from non automotive people.

Before Freddie built the white Lambo nobody was doing supercar rebuilds. What a guy to trailblaze for everyone else to follow. I wish you the best of luck and I’ll be watching every second.
