Tattooing has saved my life repeatedly. It’s the one constant in my life that always brings me back to center . It boosts me when I need boosting and it humbles me when I need humbling. It’s honestly made me and molded me into the person I am today and I am forever in debt to this artform.

I fell into tattooing without much knowledge. However I'm self taught with art and use any spare time for creating. I've been so fascinated with the whole tattoo process and my journey learning. I'm just greatful for the discovery and the rewarding experience its gifted me. I honestly felt lost and very depressed...on a dark path and really unsure. Tattooing today has given me a purpose and a positive direction. Sometimes fear is only a door we must open. Everyone was a beginner at one point also. Learning new skills is possible. Passion and perseverance is key. Thanks for all the information and guidance with my journey gentleman. This podcast is my favorite...very realistic and genuine conversations. Keep up the great work ✌️❤️🌞

Great episode as always. Thank you so much for your voice on these topics. Ever since I’ve come to know you all my life and career has changed. My awareness of who I was being and who I am being now has grown 10 fold. As a single father it gave me hope to learn about Beck creating a schedule that works. I talked about this last week because it’s an issue because tattoo/family life has been troubling me. Hearing that bit gave me some extra hope because she is kicking some ass out there from what I’ve seen. I love you guys so much! I was one of those jaded and lost tattoo artist working in the ghetto shop that needed some hope and encouragement. I get excited when I look back at where I was before I started listening and learning from TBM and see my own growth and I love how you point out that everyone has a unique journey that looks totally different. I also always love when Matt talks about all the ways he honors and cares for his artists. Happy mother f-ing day!!!😊

Man.. another incredible knowledge filled ep... So much relatability. I've spoken to both of you through DM's (well Matt's assistant at least!) and you've both been a huge part in making this already huge fire inside me becoming so much bigger. I'm 30 but I'm THAT kid that is looking at tattoos today with my jaw on the floor knowing that this is all possible if I put the work in and stay on the track. I love it, I've never been so ambitious and confident that my life is finally on the right track after 29 years of being lost. Also, hearing you talk about the Micky Sharpz and how you looked at it as treasure, I'm the same way with the Bishop Wand Shader. I don't have one, can't afford one, but man I want one so badly. The look of them, the glowing reviews, the fact it's a well respected machine, everything - to the point that it hurts me knowing people have multiple Bishop machines in their drawers, and some of them aren't even being used. I can't wait until I one day get one, I'll be sleeping with that thing under my pillow lmao. All these things that are yet to happen in my new life as a tattoo artist, I'm so fired up for it. I went from having a life altering accident, being flown to hospital in the ambicopter, to 9 years of depression, misery, no true love in my life as my original passion was taken from me, to being ready to be done with life when I turned 30, and then all of a sudden on a whim I decide to give in to the people telling me to try tattooing, and now it's lit my life up like nothing ever before. Complete 180. I'm scared of doing things I'd usually do without a thought incase I damage myself and lose this love, as I've never loved anything as much as I've loved tattooing, and the best part is that I'm RIGHT AT THE START OF IT. 4 months in! I love life, I love you guys for being humble, making the podcast and sharing knowledge, and I love that I stuck with drawing realism all my life with no incentive, no reason - just for the love of art. It was all for this. Rambling, my apologies but thank you, in the most sincere way I could possibly say it over text. We're all right where we're supposed to be, let's get it!!!!

Calling someone with over 10 years in the business an “old gatekeeper” is so disrespectful anyway. I apprenticed in a shop where you learn to respect the guys that gave decade(s) of their lives to tattooing because what would I be without their passion for the craft.
