To me, this is still the best post sprite era fighting game CAPCOM ever made. It somehow manages to have that old school CAPCOM feel that none of the others have had.

1:42 That Morrigan VS Doronjo stare down, though. I played Tatsunoko VS Capcom so much. It wasn't MVSC2, but it scratched that itch in just the right way. When MVSC3 came out, a lot of people forgot this existed. I wish it'd get re-released on current platforms.

It's the only game where Ryu PUT HIS OWN SOUL when shouting Shinkuu-Hadouken. Even on MvC games is not the same thing.

He really did have the most emotion with this one.

The fact that there's still people playing this game and even making tournaments it's amazing. It is noticeable that the developers put a lot of love into making the game. Just look at the references to Tatsunoko anime in the special techniques and the soundtrack that alludes to the electronic music of the 90s and early 2000s. TvC is truly a gem of fighting games.

It's a Capcom fighting game, those are never not released in arcades. That's like expecting Capcom games to not be ported to everything because they were originally released on a Nintendo console coughlinkaracough

Not going to happen. If it did, it would probably end up a Japan-only exclusive due to how much of a nightmare it was to localize as Tatsunoko licensed its characters to different companies outside of Japan.

@@PrincessTwilightdash You don't understand: the licenses outside Japan means to showcase a character with another one they need permission from two outside companies even if both are from the same japanese company. Imagine if Ryu is only available to be portrait in USA by Warner and Megaman only to be portrait in the USA by Marvel Studios. Both are from Capcom, but you need permission from both Warner and Marvel to distribute the game in the USA even if there is no problem in Japan to have them together. I know it's dumb, but it is what it is.

Man i loved the intro so much back in the days and were super jealous the game wasnt released at that time here. But then it came. And they changed the intro 😢

Capcom needs to start making Anime’s for their Games

its nice that this version actually has an intro with animation instead of a crappy clipshow of in game art.....but the song here barely exists, I give the US version a point for at least having a song that exists even if it is silly in a upbeat kind of way.

1 thing that my most favorite part about the opening scene is the sword fight scene between Soki and Karas 1:10

This was the superior introduction.

I'm still waiting for -Marvel- Disney vs Sega vs Tatsunoko vs Bandai Namco vs Capcom Featuring Mickey Mouse, The Mandolorian, Sonic, Shadow, Pac-Man without the wooden dummy, Agumon, Gabumon, Shoutmon, RX-78 Gundam, God Gundam, Wing Gundam Zero, MegaMan.exe and Omega Man (Star Force Mega Man) and basically everyone else who didn't get to appear in previous vs Capcom and X Capcom (including Project ☓ Zone) crossovers followed by the lower priority of the ones that appeared in Namco × Capcom and Project ☓ Zone 1 and 2 but not the fighting game crossover games like Klonoa, Batsu, Akira, Bhan, Dural and Kite.

This should have a PC port but it would be a nightmare of copyright in America and Europe

They had to get the rights to Tatsunoko’s characters in order to make this game in the first place, so Speed Racer and Samurai Pizza Cats would’ve had to been included as part of the package. Not to mention, that is absolutely not the reason why Speed Racer was left out. According to producer Ryota Niitsuma, during an interview with Siliconera, the inclusion of Speed Racer was discussed but could not be incorporated as he lacked a viable moveset and the vehicle itself wasn't feasible. Clearly, he didn’t watch the show, as Speed is very much a brawler. As for Samurai Pizza Cats, Niitsuma said, "We at Capcom too, wanted to see the Samurai Pizza Cats in the game. We were in discussion with Tatsunoko productions to try to get them in the game. It went right up the last minute, but it didn’t go through.”
