I met him at IISc few many times when I was doing my MTech at 22 when he joined IISc for his PhD. Undoubtedly, he was very good in calculations and definitely has strong memory, higher IQ well above an average person. At least I did not find any genius or god gift in him. In my opinion, he was overly obsessed for records and his focus was mainly to achieve personal records, maybe due to extremely high expectations of his parents and society to better and better in academics. I was curious to know his ambitions and when asked he immediately replied "mujhe to bas Nobel Prize pana hai (I only need to get Nobel Prize)". I did not expect this answer from a matured person whose real passion is research. I wish he could focus on real research than wasting time to win the case for him to work from home. Rather, he could join IISc, IISER or TIFR in Bangalore or many more top institutes in India where weather is suitable.

yes friend best comments yet i read from 2002. I am also only read past 14 years. I realized that no body dam nobody scholar only understanding about subject make you best not any iit/ iim. best teacher(offline only) needed otherwise MIT have best professor but they can't developed excellent student via online except few exception.

Even many illiterate people have some physical disabilities. It has nothing to do with the academic race of children. And why blaming only my parents. You should blame Hon'ble Education Ministry also. Without his special permission, I could have never write Class Ten exams at the age of nine years. If there was no genuine belief in my special talent then allowing me to appear in Class Ten exams at the age of nine years was nothing but a gross abuse of my childhood. And if there was a genuine belief in my special talent then the Hon'ble Education Minister Sir should kindly provide me special encouragement for my research in terms of a Virtual Transfer, which is legally possible in special cases.

Emotional quotient of the child probably plays a bigger part in the quality of their lives rather than academic excellence alone. As for your obsession with trying to retain the Job that you are unable to perform in IIT Bombay, I don’t have to say much. The other responses on this comments section will give you a better answer. Your best bet is to try for other jobs that help you use your best skills in physics and math rather than waste your life fighting a legal battle claiming some special status. Nice coping mechanism

Just bcoz of few students like him my parents jump my 2 classes . I wasn't able to socialise, got off the track and was mere able to promote till my class 12. I was good in studies till class 4 and then the shit happened . Request all the parents to not do this to ur child. Every child is special and have different capabilities. Never try to rush things . Eventually you will end up like this trying to find ease for yourself.

Good point. I never thought about it. Academicians never get excited by child prodigies. They are impressed by research, path breaking ones.

This is classic example of how too much performance pressure at tender age can ruin a brilliant mind. That's why emotional maturity is equally important as compared to logical intelligence. Hope he get over his setbacks soon and Excell again.

I was very poor in studies since my school time and always hated grade system. Had 28 compartments in my 4 years of B. Tech.. Which I completed in 7 years, spent many years as hopeless unemployed worst part is I am suffering from chronic sinuses and also for last few years suffering from liver ailment but was never seeking any favors from anyone. Fortunately got some good friends who guided in right direction, I believe everyone carve out there own path to success. I am not claiming I am very successful but today I am living much better life, working in an MNC with decent salary and good profile. My learning in all my struggles is that one should always ready for learning and skill development is very important. Above all have faith in God and be thankful for what you have. More you are thankful more calmness and blessings will follow.

One of my seniors who studied with him at IISc Bangalore while this prodigy was doing his Ph D told me that he was below average in research and completed his Ph D after considerable delay and difficulty. He said his ability in cramming was excellent but at innovation and research he was very weak which basically sums up his quick degrees but further failure in research. If he would have been real, after getting his Ph D even at his home he could have developed theories, found new theorems or proved something else like a real theoretical physicist would've done.

I was an average students, my parents used to compare me with him to degrade me. He was all over the news and while I was in awe with his achievement, I always doubt him. In later years I realized he was an accessory for his parents to get fame. He must had some gifted memory and calculation abilities but that is not going to help you with intelligence, creativity and thought process. Now he is lacking confidence and having hard time defending himself, just listen to him it is clear on his face and in his voice.

I personally think, when he used SPECIAL CASE, so much times - it's getting weirder. Ok you were a star, every big politician knew you but atleast now face reality. Atal ji ne doosara janam le liya, Laloo ji ka beta aage kaam badha raha h. Aur tum yahan special case gina rahe ho. I was a childhood prodigy too. My parents got me promoted two years that again lead to academic pressure but more than that of academic I wasn't able to socialize by seventh I got MIGRAINE and it remained till the end of ninth then somehow I got back and did tenth my tenth at 14 years age and got 95% and then 12th 90% !

IIT का प्रोफेस्सर होना कोई छोटी मोटी बात नही। आपने जीवन मे बहुत अच्छा किया खुश रहो। अच्छी बुद्धि होना का मतलब अच्छा पैसे वाला होना नही होता। सरस्वती और लक्ष्मी जी कोई मेल नही होता

Being able to do quick calculation is good enough to fetch degrees and to impress others. However, it is far far away from a real work, particularly research. Almost all of us have seen our school toppers who did well till teenage but couldn't keep up in the professional world. This guy is just that, plus arrogant. In the entire video here, he has been praising himself but cannot explain why he couldn't get selected for any other IIT in those 4 yrs. Future doesn't look so bright for him unless he undergoes a very serious transformation.

With full respect he is a victim of academic cart race, no doubt he had exceptional IQ when he was young so he was able to clear higher education in very very young age, But his over all out come is 0. Most of the young kids who get extra in the bag do nothing in the life. After achieving all this his greatest investion is Virtual transfer. Is this the joke? We have seen most of the world famous scientists had very poor performance in school, I had heard about him in the past, but his overall journey is complete spoiler. I recommend government to give him one more record for inventing virtual transfer.

Agar bina kisi laag lapat ke dekha jaaye to aapne mauka ganwa diya aage badhne ka....waise aapke paas age abhi hi baki hai...agar aap pani galtiyon se seekh kar phir se aage badhenge to jindagi aur mauke degi.... waise aap karna kya chahte hain? aapk professor bana diya to usme kaam to logo ko padhana hai...aap agar padhana hi chahte hain aur Mumbai achhi jegah nahi hai to apne ghar per reh ker jabardast padha sakte hain logo ko...

सबको कछुए और ख़रगोश की कहानी हमेशा याद रखनी चाहिये

जिस तरह से यह बातें कर रहा है कहीं से भी टैलेंटेड या बुद्धिमान व्यक्ति नजर नहीं आता है अगर मनोवैज्ञानिक विधियों का इस्तेमाल करें तो इसके बोलने के तरीके हाव-भाव इत्यादि को देखकर ऐसा लगता है कि यह कोई विशेष प्रतिभा वाला व्यक्ति नहीं है

He is a product of a system where your memory power decides your grades, not the real understanding and concepts.. One who remembers the answers is first, one who forgets is last, so mugging up the book is what indian education is all. About, rattafication without knowing the logic.

Being a lawyer, I can definitely say that he is on wrong path. Whoever does law degree to fight his own case, seldom succeed in life.

Do you know, Hon'ble Shri Ram Jethmalani Sir fought his first case for himself only to get special permission to become a lawyer at the age of 17 years for which there was a minimum age rule of 21 years. Wasn't he successful in life?

Talent apne jagah sahi hai but aap hi btao 4 yrs paid leave kam hai aapko bahut jayda hi support mila and itna issue hai toh join other IIT but sab independent university hai transfer type kuch hota hai nhi and aap hi btao IITs me 4 yrs paid leave pe kya ye tax payers ke paiso ka wastage nhi hai and law is same for all aapko previously jitna support mila bahut jayda mila and aapke excuses bahut hi stupid hai sab aapke according thodi hoga you didn't take even a single class in 4 years and take salary from IITB unko aap pe action lena hi tha and stupid excuses mat hi do you think you are special case so even constitution can change for you but no you are blessed many people support you from childhood and politician ka mathematics kitna hota hai ye sab jante hi hai but still they support you so you are blessed not special case and stop giving stupid excuses rather you can join research in IISc ISI TIRF but you are so self obsessed man 😢😢

I first heard about him when he went to high court to get special permission to get relaxation in age.

India's got talent. But govt unable to utilize the same.

1. IQ is not the perfect/sole reflection of Abilities 2. Like bob dylan said in his Nobel speech - artist doesn’t work for getting praised / awarded 3. Einstein said - if you judge a fish by ability to climb a tree , it will spend its whole life , thinking it’s a fool 4. Fame/ego has the potential to blind you This story reflects all these points very clearly

He taught us physics at iit bombay.. He hardly knows anything .. used to do lots of mistake in class and couldn't clear any doubt of students. Therefore he was removed from bombay..BBC walo ko goli de raha hai..

Kyuki besarkari Mai iski rataa rataaya daal nhi galegi.. pvt mai tez competition hai.. aur smart working log v hai ...! Yeh toh wese v case Mai phasa hua hai . Kaha waqt nikaal paega pvt ke liye...

Tathagat is very special talent but he is closing his wings himself by laws and considering everything special at every stage, IIT have given him 4years special leave which is beyond scope. Talent truly wasted.

Will you explain more on his “struggle” that made you “so sad” ? Apart from passing the exam at very early age and securing a lecturer job, where are great achievements? He never produced a single medical document to support his claims of medical condition and requirement to go on long leaves. Still he was on leaves for four years! He got what he deserved, system even helped him to overcome legal constraints. What else?

चूतिये कौन सी struggle कर रहा है वो पिछले पांच साल से नोकरी पर नहीं गया, कोई कॉन्ट्रिब्यूशन नहीं। एक मेडिकल कंडीशन का बहाना लगाकर जो मुम्बई में रहने वाले डेढ़ करोड़ लोगों में से न जाने कितने लोगों को होगी। उनमें से बहुत से मजदूरी करते होंगे, प्राइवेट जॉब करते होंगे, उनको ये प्रीविलेज है क्या कि अपनी मनचाही जगह पर पोस्टिंग मिल जाये?

After watching the entire discussion, I have failed to understand what his achievements are other than guiness book of wolrd records and few recognitions f9r his intelligence level and higher IQ. SUCH a genius person with support at all level could have made major break through in the field of his interest and invented somethings extra ordinary for our country through his passion for research and discover. If ASTRO physics was his interest then what is his contribution, what did he achieve. He just got sucked into the job sector and bureaucratic rigmarole. Please tell me that he invented some new planet, or build a gadget to discover heaven and hell or something to land in the milky way....what did he achieve????? Sorryy Sorryy Sorryy, if I did not understand his achievements and contributions. Please forgive me. JAI HIND.

You are absolutely right. This guy has achieved NOTHING in his academic career. He is just an ordinary person puffed up by the stupid Indian media, and a population always searching for super-human heroes. In academic circles he is considered a publicity-hunter with an unimpressive career. When will Indians realize that scientific research is not a Bollywood thriller?

Those people who are blaming him must think that atleast he tried to use his talent for research work so that he can contribute to the betterment of society..and not money...if he had been living in a bungalow and earning alot nobody would have said this

Or maybe it shows the status of our schools. I was in 6th when I could solve problems from 8th class but to fundamentally understand the concept , it took me JEE exam ( which I still think does not test things very deeply). Schools are turning out to be a waste of time

obtaining degrees through recommendations does not guarantee that you will be awarded a Nobel Prize.

Without any disrespect, I dont understand why would he start studying law, instead of focusing on theoretical physics, research. Almost every place, city in India has its own pros & cons. With so many choice at hand, I don't see this as an excuse. I think he felt saturated & lost his passion. Happens to many people.
