Hi Jon, here's just a couple of little insider tips for fishing Maine without giving away TOO much.😂 First of all, what you ran into at Pushaw is actually a fairly common thing, I hit schools of both bass species all the time there. The biggest problem with Pushaw is that it'll have "off" years and "on" years. This was definitely an "on" year for everyone I know, while just a few years ago we struggled to get even a nibble in the most enticing spots on the lake. Additionally, you gotta try more spots down South, especially that small chain of lakes and slow rivers just South of the Augusta area. You have a very good shot at a 5+ bass in summer and 3+ foot pike in winter. Won't give out names of my favorite lakes and streams in that area but all of them are good :) Kezar Lake and Highland Lake out near the New Hampshire border also give up a few pigs. And finally DO NOT sleep on the small ponds and Jon Boat launches! Just pulled a 5.2 Bigmouth out of a roadside pond that's no more than 50 acres. You'll never run out of new water around here!

I hate it when people who aren’t researchers talk about wildlife bills they don’t understand. Anytime somebody argues that you shouldn’t kill bass because they aren’t going anywhere anyways and turn that same opinion around on fish like pike or Snakehead You can tell that their motives are selfish. I like John B but I agree. We have to stop KZreadrs from making these “budget biology” videos unless they are well researched. The reality is humans are very good at killing off animals, and given the right direction we have every potential to fight back against invasive species.

It's amazing how some fish normally caught everywhere else is invasive in Maine.

Large mouth is one of my favorite fish to eat. And Jon B you ate wrong a 4 LB large mouth tastes just as good as a 2 pounder. My great uncle has a 2 acre pound and we eat bass at least 2 times a week and it is just as good as the walleye we catch in lake Erie.

The catch and release is so strong with Jon. You could tell this was painful for him, but it was good to see him come to the light and do a catch and cook 😂.

It’s the colder water. It makes the fish sweeter and firmer.

While I agree that killing established invasive species is unnecessary as well as unethical, we shouldn't try to brush them off as having a minimal impact because they certainly don't. Nonetheless still a great video.
