Born in Laos, grew up in Australia.. we left after the Vietnam war...my parents knew there no future for us there when the communist came in...Thank you for showing my birth country...and how the "secret" war affected the whole country🙏🙏🙏

It gives me great joy and immense sorrow that one of my father's heroes gave his time and attention to the country and people that he devoted all his life's work to. I only wish both men were alive to share their love for culture and life together. Rest peacefully, both my heroes.

Never seen this episode before, saw the no reservations one, which I enjoyed but this, well. That was beautiful, enchanting and enlightening. Makes you ashamed to be American. This is why this man is a legend. Laos is definitely on my bucket list. Only the British guy Simon Reeve can lay a claim to be compared to this great man.

Anthony Bourdain is one of kind, a legend, a man who spoke his mind without a filter, a passionate writer who had no boundaries and kept pushing his limit beyond his imagination. There is no other man like him, no comparison to put it simply.

Finally made it to visit Lao a few months ago and from my experience it‘s the most spiritual, primitive, special and (partially) unspoilt of the SEA Region. Beautiful people, full of grace and majestic landscapes, culture and food. Terrible past and also a dangerous present, mostly through Chinese exploitation of their scarce resources. Still, unforgettable, eager to come back one day.

Yeah the worry about the Ukraine war from western countries is really hypocritical when you consider how many wars across the world have existed for years. But it's inside Europe so now people suddenly realize there is war in the world.

The title represents only 3% of what's inside this episode. The 'bombies' might be more appropriate to be in the title. The five minutes towards the ending without being narrated, that is a brilliant decision.
