    Unrelated to the topic at hand but have you ever tried the Glock field knives? I own multiple Glock handguns & my carry gun is a G26 Gen4 but I've never tried their field knives. They are under $40 on Glock's site & I believe some European militaries use them

    Ive tried a few packs. I tried a Berghous. Very meh. Tried a Karrimor SF. Very nice. But at end of day my go to is a old British Bergen internal frame 2 removable 15lt side pouches in Khaki. Way begore molle no ALICE hanging points. But its literally 90lt but doesntg look it. Comfortable big and small enough and it lasted me 3 yrs in the army in the 80s. This thing wont die had it 30 yrs and I go hiking 20 times a yr on average carrying 15 plus kg for overnighter

    @@Skills2survive The Mystery Ranch 2DAP holds my main dayhiking/survival kit. I use a Mystery Ranch Scree for dayhikes and sometimes overnight. I have a MR Gallagator for work and the Terraframe 80 for longer trips. Then I have a MR Mission Duffel 90 L for road trips. And I actually have a MR Hardscrabble that I haven't gotten around to use yet! ;-) You could say I'm a Mystery Ranch fanboy, but then their HQ & factory is in the same town where I live.

    The reason for the lipped covers that are shock corded is to keep rain from getting in the zippers, an believe me if it can find away in, it will. Really like the size of the pack an the features, it could an would do double duty for me, thx for the vid.

    The molle isn't bartacked isn't it? It looks only triple stitched. Which is stronger? Mostly only see triple stitched molle on cheaper stuff. I'm thinking of getting this pack, I already have the Eberlestock Halftrack which is very similar but also very different.

  • @ozdavemcgee2079

    Heres my view on molle. The nice pouch in the outer of the pouch is wonderful. But, as it zipps shut, it has no business having molle on it as well. If you hang molle off it you place strain on the zipper. If your zipper breaks.... For that reason alone, I only use bucket packs lift lid there it is one compartment. I generally use packs with 10 to 15 lt side pounches that zipper (YKK) on. Ive had a few break over the years. And that's made me think, what happens when those nice packs with zipper access to you sleeping bag or the whole pack opens up like Mystery Ranch...guess your hiking home stuff poking and falling out al8ng the trail Hansell and Gretel style lol

  • @blacksunapocalypse

    @blacksunapocalypse

    I've worried about the zips as well, but i've also not heard of anyone having zipper issues with those bigger YKK ones especially. Personally I have more issues with stitching than zippers (ykk zips that is)

    Tasmanian Tiger Bpacks, most of the times are made of 700D Cordura, that's the best IMO material, because you have more than enough thickness and durability but also, doesn't add the weight 1000D add. Most underrated Brand on the market IMO.

    @@Skills2survive I had a Lowe Alpine as well. It was a nice pack. I gave it to my sister, because it was a bit too small for more than a 1 night trip. I had given her my Dana Designs ArcFlex Alpine too. At the time, due to disabilities and multiple lumbar spine surgeries, I thought my days of needing a backpack were over. Then, I started putting together a bugout bag, and recovered a bit physically. That Dana Designs is way too big for my 5' 2" sister, so I asked for it back. She gave it back to me, without the removable hip belt! I should have never given her either pack. My sister doesn't take care of things well. She better find the damn hip belt. It's useless without it.

    @@Skills2survive I was using the Lowe Alpine to travel from my off campus condo, to my graduate school campus. I couldn't get on-campus housing in the lottery. A regular college backpack wasn't cutting it, because I had to ride my bike like 4 miles, or take the train or bus. Back in 1999, Lowe Alpine made great stuff for the money. They were considered a value brand, but their gear was really well made.

    Maxpedition is great (you get what you pay for) 5.11 Rush 48, is the most overrated backpack on the market, no comments only marketing. On the other hand, Tasmanian Tiger, are the most underrated backpacks. If you want to build a BOB, try Mission pack MK II or any other, you think is more suitable for your needs. Problem is, you will not trust my comment, but you trust,sellers, that sell whatever they make them richer. That comes to the coclusion, that people will only believe, what the TV or the Internet says. No people, you are wrong and I 100% wish I was wrong and you where right.
