I never even thought about that before. I just found it interesting that a futuristic robot would run on something like a simple battery 🥴 (Actually, maybe it's, like, car battery-sized... 🤔)

After actually putting the two videos side by side, the run quickly desynchs as soon as Mega Man grabs the second ladder in Wind Man's stage -- he appears to somehow midair-jump from the bottom of the ladder, allowing a faster climb. From that moment alone, as well as the way the difference between the two runs slowly increases, I can tell a lot of new glitches and movement quirks have been found, so it's quite the shame that the run's author has absolutely zero info about it in their publication.

I love that he's, like, vibrating half of the time.

@@NameThatNobodyTakes I remember playing 4 when I was younger and Cossack being at the stage select instead of Wily threw me off guard. Untill seeing Wily I thought it was Cossack in MM4. I find it fun that in 6 the story is done as a fun and silly thing. I played the 6 games around the same time and at the intro I was like "That's Wily with a beard!'

I dare to say Mega Man 6 is on my top 3 alongside Mega Man 2 and 3 of the best MM titles for the NES (Sorry for 1, 4 and 5) but i 6 feel it's also highly underrated.

In addition to all ladders, there are a few places where these platforms appear. The first one is at the end of Blizzardman’s level, right before the boss door, under the timebombs. By utilizing this platform it is possible to avoid detonating the final time bombs. To perform it, simply slide in the hole between the time bomb and the icy wall. When falling down, press right and you will land on the platform. You must jump off of it quickly, or else you will fall into the pit. The platform does not occur all the time, and it is very risky to try to use this in normal gameplay without save states. The second place where these platforms occur is in Dr. X stage 3, where there are large rooms filled with some sort of scales. If you land on one end it is lowered, and the other one rises. Next to each of these platforms there is an invisible(nonexistent) platform. You must land on it on a specific position, or else it will not be there. THIS is what Mega Man truly was supposed to be, an unstoppable mega force hell-bent on destroying anything that comes across his path on his quest to save humanity, all while doing it with flair and style (while not getting touched unless HE wanted it to happen, lmao)

I'm actually sad that this is the current record because I always look forward to the authors' comments, but this has nothing, so I don't know what to look out for unless I play both videos side by side. Compare that to Shinryuu's comments on his run (which is the one this obsoletes).

Possibly due to the bus needing more time to load in the new assets. As the purpose of the screen transitions in all the megaman games was to hide the loading as seamless as possible

+testyourmine That's probably because this publication is so bare in terms of author's comments that the run's description had nothing to work off of. So it doesn't say "this run improves X and Y over the previous one..." because it's hard to tell the difference unless you run them side by side.

a tas is made to show a theoretical perfect run, or to entertain an audience by messing around in a game in an unintended (or possibly intended, just ridiculously quick) way. due to that, it is counted separately from human speedrunning.
