So do you play these games over a certain number of times to unlock all of the characters or do you hack the emulators to unlock them or do they come pre-unlocked with the emulators?

Pre unlock. Only in kof2002um you have to play to unlock

Conseguir desbloquear Leona e iori orochi.simples!!! No meu caso meu trio foi (terry,geese,kyo) opção de barra Ultimate, venci 9 lutas com 1 perfect com terry finalizando todas elas com especial no final (DM ou SDM), desbloqueou a Leona orochi primeiro, continuei até o final do jogo, depois que concluir realizei o mesmo processo só que com o trio (terry,Leona orochi e Geese) 9 lutas ganha com um perfect e finalizando com especial DM ou SDM, aí conseguir desbloquear o Iori orochi. Lembrando que você deve ganhar dos dois para no final do jogo despois de "zera" poder habilitar eles, apertando select em cima do personagem. Uso ps3, o jogo foi adequado via Psn, o próprio console roda o jogo do ps2 e ps1 (mídia digital).✌👍😎 Uma observação: para habilitar NÃO JOQUE COM OROCHI,ÔMEGA RUGAL,RUGAL B e GOENIZT. Fiz o teste aqui é ele não permitir fazer os truques justamente pelo fato de poder fazer apelação sem lutar diretamente com o oponente. Modalidade (ARCADE), versão Neo-Geo não habilita esse desbloqueio.
